Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Holliday.
Shannon, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I poured my whole heart into starting my business officially in December of 2014. It all began with taking a few products I had been working to perfect, sharing with friends, family and neighbors and then to local farmers markets. It has been a huge success and grown beyond my wildest dreams! I finished up my first year of business as a shop owner at The Texas Renaissance Festival which has led to many more opportunities. While building my business I became a certified herbalist and Reiki Master. I have worked with local doctors, chiropractic clinics, med spas and have even shipped bulk orders as far as Park Avenue in New York City! New doors open with every single step and I’m absolutely thrilled with the journey!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been a ton of growing pains! They are all good problems to have though. The hardest thing has probably been trying to find a balance between my home and business. I started this business right in my kitchen at home. At first, it was no big deal! But I am now literally busting at the seams with all this growth. My husband and I have just purchased a building to make my laboratory, hooray!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Father Thyme Herbals story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is Father Thyme Herbals. I make the finest herbal tea blends, hand-dipped incense, soaps, the best natural deodorant IN THE WORLD, natural remedies, essential oil blends, skin care and more. All made with premium organic ingredients and handcrafted with LOVE! Some people scoff at the love part but I’m telling you it’s the most important part.

A little luck, a little fate and a whole lot of destiny! I feel like every job, choice, and step has led to where I am today, living my dream.
