Shantay, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Born and raised in Houston, Texas

Father’s Name: Eugene Julius Jones
Step Father raised me: Charles Wilson
I went to Phillis Wheatley High School Graduated in 1994. I Started praise dancing in 2002 under the leadership of Darlene Thompson. The ministry name was heaven sent for about a year. After that, I started a ministry named Touch by anointed that was based on birthing young women into their full potential and thought them to have a strong relationship with God for 12 years. 2003 I formed Gulf Coast Praise dance Association where God allowed me to help churches build a solid foundation in ministry and created a strong fellowship in dance ministry that smothered competition in the body of Christ till 2019. The birthing of The midwife ministries formed June 2019 which focuses on building, empowering and birth the people of God to walk in their callings.
I am an ordain minister since 2010. I am a business owner of Ligonstz and More of five years in the Houston area also. I am married to Reginald Ligons. I have two sons: Solomon Henderson (20) Cedric Ray Byrd Jr. (15)
Has it been a smooth road?
I am a domestic Violence survivor. I was abused by my 1st husband which is my oldest sons father. From this time in my life I wrote a Gospel stage play Called Endure and Later wrote Broken which talked about my life story and how I overcame.
I am a songwriter I write seven songs for my Gospel stage plays and they toured for two years in alot of the small. Then now my husband was my Promoter at the time.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with The Midwife Ministries – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I enjoy making peoples vision a reality so this is why I love my t-shirt business and graphic designs.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like best about our city is that it’s Home. I dislike most about our city is we haven’t won a superbowl yet.
