Meet Shauntelle Parham of Infinite Possibilities Home Organizing & Staging

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shauntelle Parham.

Hi Shauntelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Certified Staging Design Professional, Redesign Specialist, Professional Home Organizer, and Short Term Rental Stylist.

I’ve been creative at heart from a very young age. I found joy in decluttering, organizing, and interior design as well as shopping for home decor. For my first project, I decided to completely redesign my room and the end result was not only beautiful but gave me a sense of calmness. During college, I came up with a completely new design for my dorm room and students would stop by just to view what I had created. I’ve always had an eye for design so since then I have designed many projects for friends and close family. Casually, I had an encounter with a realtor who inquired if I would be interested in real estate staging and from this opportunity, I launched Infinite Possibilities Home Organizing & Staging, a brand where I can finally revisit my passion and create beautiful spaces for my clients.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The transition into entrepreneurship was not easy. Trying to find that work-life balance takes great time management skills! A lot of time was invested into becoming a business owner because I’m wearing all hats. I’m the designer, accountant, marketer, and social media manager! Along with this, another struggle that I encountered in the beginning was limited resources. There was no profit because it all went back into the business for overhead which is pretty high for stagers. I worked hard to build my inventory because the items I desired weren’t always available to rent.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Infinite Possibilities Home Organizing & Staging?
The services I offer include Vacant Home Staging, Occupied Home Staging, Decluttering & Home Organization, Redesign services, and Short Term Rental Styling.

Attention to detail is what sets Infinite Possibilities apart from the rest. I stage a home in a way as if I am designing for future homeowners to make memories in the home. I enjoy making an old home look new again! As far as my style, I’m a neutral girl. I enjoy calming, neutral spaces that are easy on the eye with a pop of color here and there. My style includes both light & airy white and bright designs as well as moody & sexy aesthetics such as dark spaces with light furniture. I aim to add many layers, textures, and natural elements to every space that I design. It creates an aesthetic of timeless beauty. I really love how the interior and the exterior of a home can share a story. An example of this would be having the same stone that is on the exterior of the home also in the interior such as a fireplace or accent wall as well as bringing in natural greenery. I also love to incorporate something old with the new so I tend to visit many antique, vintage, and thrift stores to find that balance to add to my new furniture pieces. It almost feels as if I’m on a scavenger hunt! I love antique woods, vintage rugs, and textured plaster in art and vases. Everyone may not like those gritty pieces but I see the beauty in them and once I style them in a home, my clients are always happy with the end result. Great photography of my spaces is a huge part of my success. I’m blessed to have relationships with photographers that support my brand as I do theirs. One of my favorite photographers is Erin Appel with WAMI Photography. Just as I pay close attention to detail, so does she, which makes us a great team. When it comes to staging and design, every project is different and has its own unique challenges. It’s my job to trust my gut and figure these things out in order to make the space beautiful. This is my passion so I find myself thinking about design all of the time and coming up with the next great idea. I love every day that I go to work and there’s never a dull moment!

I also enjoy educating my clients on the difference between design and staging. With design, you are bringing the homeowner’s personality into the space to make it their own. However, with staging, you are taking the personality out of the home in order for it to appeal to the most potential buyers.

With staging, the client is looking for a dream, the perfect home. To the seller, the perfect home will bring the highest return on investment. To the buyer, the perfect home will bring great memories. The goal of staging is to bring an emotional connection to the home. I make the home feel very warm and inviting to whoever comes into the space. It’s that feeling that you have whenever you walk into a beautiful environment and envision yourself living there.

When I founded Infinite Possibilities, I wanted to create something that would be meaningful and useful to my clients, whether I am staging, designing, or organizing. For many people, the thought of decluttering, organizing, and decorating seem overwhelming. That is where I come in. I love to help take that stress away from my clients by not only making their spaces more functional, but aesthetically pleasing as well. When it comes to interiors, there are infinite possibilities for what I can do hence my business name!

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
I learned the importance of being comfortable in your home environment. During the pandemic, everyone was stuck in their homes and feeling some form of discomfort from the situation that we were all in. This is why you at least need your space to give you warmth and peace regardless of what’s going on in the outside world. Your home should be your sanctuary and elements of design such as paint color can affect a person’s mood. In a stressful time, the color red would enhance that feeling whereas the color blue creates a sense of tranquility so it’s important to consider this when choosing colors for your home. Outside of colors, try decluttering. I don’t know about you but once my home is decluttered and organized, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders!
