Today we’d like to introduce you to Shawnee Davis.
Shawnee, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up in a single parent household I can relate to most of my clients. My family and I have over 38 years of experience in early childhood education. I received my director’s license at the age of 24 and opened my first facility at the age of 26.
From living in Alief and later graduating from Mayde Creek High School located in Katy,TX , I had a chance to experience different diversities. I can understand the need for safe and caring childcare environments that won’t break your pockets. Not only are we locally owned and operated in Texas but our prices are unbeatable compared to the love and safeness we provide for our students. We serve infant to school age children in communities near Tomball, Houston, Katy, and Cypress. My focus is to make learning fun for our students, with our play-based curriculum. I aim to nurture children in a child-centered setting that fosters the growth of confident, caring, and successful students.
REAL RESULTS
First Place Kids have provided students the opportunity to excel in their studies, by using small classroom sizes. This type of learning environment helps children to focus on the skills they need to succeed in life.
HIGH STANDARDS
Why is it important to have high quality Pre-school? A child’s early experiences, whether at home, in childcare, or in other preschool settings are educational. The indicators of high-quality care have been studied and are available in many formats. When care is consistent, emotionally supportive, and appropriate to the child’s age, development, and temperament, there is a positive effect on children and families.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I love what we do, so when hiring new team members I make sure they can bring joy to our students which makes our job easier.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is helping others. Being able to influence, help, or even to have a conversation to change someone’s perspective will always be my goal.
