Meet Shay Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shay Williams.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Shay. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In March of 2016, I gave birth to my third child. My only daughter Azalea Chanell who was born with a life long congenital heart defect. She required so much of me; her condition was so delicate. My role in the nursing field working long hours away from home, being exposed to so many different germs & diseases on a daily had to stop. Meaning so did my income. Leaving me to find the light in my darkness. I prayed to God for guidance. I asked that he show me a sign. “ Father God, Put me in a position to where I’m able to provide abundantly for my kids, where I can still be of service to others, something where I can take time off to be with Azalea anytime she has to undergo heart surgery and I’m not penalized for it. Put me where I will excel.” Was my exact prayer.

That following week I got on social media and saw someone selling lunch plates. I tried it & was like oh it’s ok but mine is better. Then it came to me, this is something that I can do from home & have control over when I do it. So I posted a menu, the feedback was beyond amazing. I set a goal of plate sells & sold out within the first hour! All I could do was keep thanking God. From there I created a brand, a business that I have now been running successfully for four years now.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not smooth, I don’t believe that anything worth having comes easy. I’ve had different struggles throughout the course of growing from just selling plates on a daily to actually running a full-service catering company. However, each challenge has taught a different lesson and every lesson learned has promoted growth!

Touched with love catering – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I offer full-service catering for events of all kinds. No job is too big or too small. Private chef services to those wanting an intimate restaurant experience in the comfort of their own home. I specialize in creating an experience rather than just service. My most popular dishes are my pastas, Hand rolled meatballs, specialty potatoes, Seafood gumbo, & brunch menu. However, I don’t like to be boxed in lol! I specialize in anything I “Touch!” I pride myself on building relationships with my clients. I love when they refer someone and reference me as “their personal caterer”.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is a multitude of things. Hard work being first. Learning, sacrificing, and loving what you are doing follows. I will feel I’ve reached success once I’ve traveled the world and fed people of all different backgrounds.
