Meet Shelly Lee of Shelly’s Expressions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelly Lee.

Shelly, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was told in junior high, high school, and college that I wrote well. I enjoyed writing. I would take notes at meetings. I was the Sunday School Superintendent and the church secretary so I always took the minutes. Also, during sermons, I would take notes on what the preacher preached about. So I had tablets full of sermon notes and messages that God gave to me.

In 2015, God told me to start writing God Spoke and I Listened and I obeyed. From there, I have published another book and I am currently working on book 3.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I am not getting many sales nor support. People will tell me that they are going to purchase my book but don’t. I do not draw large crowds to my book signings either. I don’t know if it because I am in a small town or what.

I even tell customers who brought my books to tell others. So all in all, my struggle is no support and no sales. I know that God is going to open the door and lead me to the right audience that is interested in my work. I am just patiently waiting.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Shelly Lee – what should we know?
I am a self-published Christian Inspirational author. I have published 2 books. I am proud of achieving my dream. What sets me apart is my humbleness. I do not forget where I come from and I do not mind helping others.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I give all credit to God. He gave me the gift and I am sharing with others. My mother is also my biggest supporter. I love the fact that she is proud of me. She has always taught me to not be like her but to be better than her. My children are also my supporters and inspiration. They inspire me to be all that I can. They keep me grounded. I want them to be better than me.
