So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Officially I have been event planning for 8+ years, but I have been eventing ever since I was teen. While in undergrad studying business marketing, I started a wedding planning business called Serendipity Events! The word Serendipity means aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident, which pretty much sums up my whole career. Growing up I didn’t intend on events as my career, but one passion and hobby led to another and here I am!
While having my planning business going & getting my MBA, I also worked at venues to get all the training I could get. White Oaks on the Bayou is now like my baby. It started with a vision of what brides wanted as a planner mixed with what works as a venue, and we now host 200 events a year at the venue!
Has it been a smooth road?
With a positive attitude, it all comes together! Of course, the journey was and will never be easy but if you have the will to make it happen – I believe it can! White Oaks on the Bayou offers the town a great product so we were overall confident that eventually, we would make it through.

More than 2 million marriages take place every year in the U.S and that’s an average of 6.8 marriages for every 1,000 citizens. Many of the ceremonies and receptions take place in a wedding venue, which makes the business not only a way to help each couple you host have the experience they have always dreamed of but its also part of a multi-million dollar industry. Houston has really proven to be an amazing city filled with love, support, diversity and opportunity!
