Meet Silas Moats

Today we’d like to introduce you to Silas Moats.

Hi Silas, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2019, I started my clothing brand called Tut clothing. It began in DC where I grew up but ended up going to college in California recently where I am looking to pursue my clothing brand and work to get into the fashion industry after college. I have two passions with one being riding bikes and the other being fashion. Riding my bike is more than just exercise to me I use it to clear my head.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some obstacles I had to face was not knowing anyone when I moved to California which meant I would have to work hard and work on networking to spread my clothing brand. Another struggle was I had to go through trial and error for certain designs and put all my effort into each design.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets me apart from others is that I’m goal driven and know that success is in my future I just need to continue with my momentum and working hard. One of the main focuses of my brand is that we all are able to create our own story in life that we can be remembered by. I want to be remembered as someone that was positive and goal driven that always cared about the people around me. I am known for my clothing brand and riding my bike.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I grew up in DC towards the heart of the city. I was someone that always likes to be outside. When I would wake up I would get ready to start my day and head out and then coming back at night and repeat the same thing. It was exciting but it did not leave me time to focus as much on my brand and put in work towards my dream. There were a few times I would get into trouble and going down the wrong path but riding bikes helped me a lot by clearing my head and focusing on a better life.
