Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophie Jilley.
Sophie, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being an Aesthetician to me is so much more than just rubbing creams on people’s faces. It’s the passion for helping people feel beautiful and comfortable with the skin they were born with. Helping them with issues that really put a damper on their self-esteem. Relaxing their mind, body & soul, to relieve their everyday stress in that moment that they are visiting with me. The connection I feel with my clients is so much more to me than simply just doing a job, it’s about creating a lifetime bond that will leave them excited about their next visit with me.
My passion for what I do started at a young age watching my mother & grandmother with all their different lotions & potions, fascinated by the way they took the time to take care of themselves, and always made a point to tell me “Always take care of your skin! Never go to bed with your make up on!” I just wasn’t aware of how deeply rooted my passion for Aesthetic’s was at that time, and how it would become the foundation of what I love to do. I finished high school in 2007, and was on track to take courses towards a Bachelor’s in Consumer Science. But I didn’t LOVE IT, there was a piece to my life puzzle missing.
It was then in 2009 that I finally attended the Aveda Institute for Aesthetic’s, and the moment my true passion was sparked. I went on to work for several different spas & med spas and will be forever grateful for everything I absorbed from those practices, but it was a lot of selling people things I didn’t truly believe in. I believed I could do better and knew I could really flourish and thrive by taking my own route with opening my own spa company. So Galindo Aesthetic’s was created, and I’m so in love with what I have built, and continues to grow.
We offer many different skin treatments that are focused on change. I focus on the clients seeing and feeling a difference in their skin, and giving them back the youthful glow they once had, allowing them to fall in love with their skin all over again.
Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think anything in life is a smooth road, you’ll always come into life “bumps” that challenge you along the way. Whether it be because of people you surround yourself with, your own mind power holding you back, or simply not being happy with a current situation you are in that reflects in everything you do. The key is to stay true to what you want, stay focused, consistent and keep striving towards your goals, and what you know you deserve. It’s a question of how bad do you want to succeed?
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Galindo Aesthetics story. Tell us more about the business.
At Galindo Aesthetic’s we specialize in several different amazing Facial Infusion Treatments, Environ Cool Peels, Eyebrow Re-Design/Shaping, Brow Henna, Microchanneling, Dermaplaning & Keratin Lash & Brow Infusion, as well as retailing amazing product lines; Environ Skincare, Living Libations, RD Alchemy & Image Skincare. Everything I use and do is with the purest, natural ingredients, practicing a plant-based/holistic lifestyle myself, this is something that is extremely important to me. I make it a priority to set myself apart from the competition and do thorough research with what I’m using in my spa, and really make sure that I first love it on myself before recommending it to clients. Staying up to date with one of the fastest growing industries is key to thriving in the beauty world. The growth of my company is what keeps the flame lit, and makes me so proud of how far I’ve come with it.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
We will be expanding and adding some really exciting new treatments. Alongside our male counterpart, Galindo’s Barbershop, we will be expanding into the men’s side of Aesthetic’s, as well as expanding the women’s services we offer. Stay tuned to see our empire explode!
