Thanks for sharing your story with us Stacy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Larys Florist has been in business for 57 years. It was originally owned by Georgia Lary then her daughter Lynn McLean took over and in 2012, I purchased Larys. Since 2012, is be built a brand new building and adding more services like Interior Design work. We have lighting, furniture, rugs, fabric and more. We’ve upgraded our wedding services which include wedding and event planning, equipment rental, Florals and wedding decor. We also carry Bella Figura custom invitations as well as Carlson Craft. We are a store that is all things designed. Floral Design. Event & Wedding Design and Interior Design. We also carry many lines like Voluspa, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Farmhouse Fresh, Sid Dickens, Makeup Junkie Bags and more.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a great experience with some learning curves. Especially deciding to build a million-dollar building but I knew Friendswood needed this and the surrounding cities. I’ve had to fight the city on building codes and requirements. Our original plan was to build an event center and because of the restrictions on city ordinances, that was nixed and the new Larys building was the next dream.
Also, the biggest struggle I had was creating my own name under the name of a business that was well known and had certain levels of expectations. I promised Lynn I would keep the name and keep her moms legacy. I had big shoes to fill and I hope I am making Lynn and her momma proud of the level I’ve taken Larys to.

Larys Designs is a unique business. We do florals, weddings and events, we have gifts and cards, candles, home decor, a design studio that allows our clients to have resources for fabric and furniture along with lighting, rugs, artwork, mirrors and more.
Our weddings are beautiful and we take great pride in our attention to detail. We always create lasting relationships with our clients and that is of great importance.
We are known for our flowers. Our designers have over 50 years of experience combined. No matter the style a client loves or wants, our designers can create it. I love when I hear clients say that they knew it was from Larys because of its beauty. That is something to be proud of.
I’m also very proud of our customer service. I take great pride in making our clients happy and if any issues arise, I handle them myself because I want my clients to know that I am a hands-on owner and their happiness and satisfaction is very important to me.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I would say I was a pretty outgoing child. I have always been a mothering type of child. Always worried about people being happy. I was always rearranging my bedroom furniture, I was definitely a neat freak and obsessed with organization and cleaning. In high school, I was never part of a clique, I was just friends with everyone. I was the oldest child, oldest grandchild and had a great love of family. I’ve always had a passion for the arts and design.
