Today we’d like to introduce you to Starrla Noble
Hi Starrla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was working as a graphic designer in the marketing department of a large herbal supplement company, feeling trapped in a job that had drained my creativity after seven years without promotions or growth. The long, tear-filled commutes and the sense of missing precious time with my son pushed me to the breaking point. My true passions had always been hair, skin, and nails—helping others feel confident and unstoppable. Despite the fear, I quit my corporate job, cashed out my 401k, and enrolled in cosmetology school, embarking on a new path.
After completing school and earning my license, I secured an apprenticeship at my dream salon. However, my joy was cut short by a series of devastating personal losses: my grandmother, grandfather, a miscarriage, my mother, and a divorce all within a short span. I felt shattered and empty, but my teenage son remained my source of strength and purpose.
Therapy and medication eventually helped me heal and reignite my ambition. I refocused on skincare, a passion that set my soul on fire, and began building my dream business, Dark Delicacies Beauty. While the journey of entrepreneurship is sometimes unpredictable and financially challenging, I cherish the freedom and time it affords with my son. Together, we face the world, and I am finally happy, driven by purpose, and creating a life on my own terms.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t believe in smooth roads. Without challenges, how do we learn and grow for the next hurdle life throws our way? I’ve had my fair share of bumps—getting my car repossessed, nearly losing my house more than once, struggling to pay bills, going without medication, and facing an unexpected hospital stay. Life doesn’t wait for you to catch your breath. But when you’re riding the struggle bus, you quickly discover what really matters.
I learned the difference between necessities and wants faster than I ever thought possible. I sold everything I could—furniture, jewelry, crystals, anything that held value. If I owned it, I was willing to part with it. In the end, it was all just stuff, and stuff can always be replaced. Surprisingly, I don’t miss most of it.
These hardships taught me to embrace simplicity. Living with less means carrying less baggage, and with less weight holding you down, you gain freedom. Every experience, every struggle has shaped the person I am today—resilient, resourceful, and ready for whatever comes next.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m Starrla, a lover of the macabre, gothic romanticism, and the beauty hidden in life’s darker corners. I’m also fascinated by history, and Dark Delicacies Beauty is my way of sharing the obscure, moody charm of the past with my clients. I believe self-care is essential to keeping us sane and thriving, and I want to show people there’s nothing to fear in indulging yourself and embracing your uniqueness.
Currently, I’m focused on tooth gem artistry, teeth whitening and handcrafting personal care products. By offering high-quality tooth gems and professional teeth whitening services, I can provide an opportunity for self-expression and confidence. My work is rooted in a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and environmental responsibility. I strive to create an uplifting experience that leaves clients feeling good about themselves—empowered to smile, shine, and embrace who they are. Every sparkling smile is a step toward spreading positivity and joy.
One of my favorite quotes comes from Galaxy Quest, a movie that reminds me to keep going when things get hard: “Never give up, never surrender.” When I feel overwhelmed or tempted to walk away, I take a deep breath, repeat those words, and push forward. That relentless spirit drives Dark Delicacies Beauty and fuels my passion for helping others feel confident, bold, and truly seen.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Honestly, I don’t remember many childhood memories. It might sound sad to some, but after 40-something years, I’m doing well if I can recall what happened two weeks ago! What I do remember, though, is a story my mother loved to tell. She would talk about how much I adored eating pumpkin pie and fresh cantaloupe with my grandfather.
Almost every day after school, and whenever I had the chance, I’d head over to my grandparents’ house. He would lift me onto the counter, hand me a spoon, and together we’d dig into those treats. We’d sit there, talking about our day, sharing simple moments that felt like magic.
It’s one of those memories that lives in my heart, even if the details get a little fuzzy. It reminds me of love, warmth, and the power of small, meaningful connections—the kind of feeling I carry with me and try to bring into everything I do.
