Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Sampson.
Stephanie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story begins in 1996, when I decided that I would open a Hair Salon in downtown Houston because of some unacceptable practices in a salon where I was currently working.
I owned managed and thrived in the downtown Houston area for 6 years. After much thought care and consideration, going back and fourth, I decided to purchase my own facility to continue my salon dreams in 2003.
There have been hardships along the way in many, many successes. I have met some great friends and wonderful people. I would not trade this life for any other, as I am still a practicing hairdresser and salon owner in addition to being a makeup artist.
I am happy and proud of the decisions that I have made to become a licensed cosmetologist, skin care professional and make up artist.
Has it been a smooth road?
This road is not a smooth one you have to have dedication resilience and confidence in order to make it.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the A Hair Spot story. Tell us more about the business.
On a weekly basis, I aid women to feel empowered, regain self confidence or enhance self confidence. We have so much fun when we are in each other’s company. I specialize in making someone else’s dreams come true on a personal level. I am known for and the salon is known for having a lovely atmosphere lots of camaraderie and sisterhood.
I am most proud of the fact that the atmosphere here is what sets this salon and myself apart from other salons in my area and in my town.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Over the next 5 to 10 years, I see this salon growing with the industry changes…. as well as keeping up-to-date with the trends at home and abroad and bringing those magazine wishes to life.
