Meet Stephen Aderibigbe of Stevo Supreemo in Downtown Houston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen Aderibigbe.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2012, at the age of 22, I started off producing music in college with a few of my friends and constructing songs for other artists. Eventually, I ended up writing & releasing a record which received really good reviews from my peers which led to a full project. I released a project entitled “Premonition,” just for fun, then things just started moving faster than I could expect. I was getting plays on the radio, doing interviews frequently, doing shows on campus, and opening up for established artists like Juicy J, Slim Thug, & Paul Wall. I had no clue my music was going to buzz in the city like it did, and I never saw myself as a rapper, but I was very good a writing music. So, I went with it. Meanwhile, I started a clothing line, which was originally supposed to be a quick promotion for a mixtape I produced, but the demand for the apparel was undeniable, plus it was putting money in pocket at the time (which was crucial to me as a broke college student), so I ran with it, and it was building buzz in the city as well. So, in 2014, I was pursuing a college degree, a rap career, and running a clothing brand and a studio in the heights. It became very stressful trying to do all of these things at once. It was getting to a point to where all of the activities that I was doing were suffering because I could never put all of my efforts into one thing. I eventually came to the consensus that my top priority was finishing school. So, I put the music & fashion on chill for a while.

I came back to Houston fall of 2017 and began to showcase my skills as curator. I began to curate playlists and Dj events around the city. I ended up getting the attention of the current Combs Enterprises ambassador Mikos Adams and began to DJ & curate Ciroc events hosted in the city such as Ciroc Studios which featured emerging artists Don Toliver & Dice Soho as well as veterans like 9-time Grammy Award Winning producer Brian Micheal Cox. I’ve also started curating playlists on Apple Music and providing consulting services with musicians, producers, and small companies.

Has it been a smooth road?
Keeping up the climate of the music industry as it grows has been a bit challenging. There is always something new or changing with how people listen to music and what people listen to. I have to always stay updated on what’s new and always have a pulse on what’s next.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Stevo Supreemo – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
