Meet Steve Jennis of Jennis Consulting Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Jennis.

Hi Steve, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
– Physics degree and postgrad industrial studies diploma
– 15 years with Texas Instrument in sales, marketing, and exec management.(globally)
-Co-founder and board director of a software services and products business in industrial computing (which grew from zero to an eight-figure exit by acquisition)
– Appointed global CMO of the acquirer (a $500M Taiwan corporation)
– Founded Jennis Consulting Group
– Authored The Founder’s 10P Playbook – for building a strategy-driven, customer-centric business
– An independent director and strategic board member for several select companies
– Most enjoys mentoring aspiring and early-stage founders
– Advocates street-wise practical entrepreneurialism (as opposed to MBA-style theoretical teaching) – practice makes perfect.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Hell, no! Any founder knows the stress, hard hours, and hard yards that come with building a business from scratch. Disappointments outnumber successes 10/1. Unteachable traits like resilience, determination, ambition, charisma, and belief (often despite the evidence) become fundamental to hanging-on long enough to become an ‘overnight success’. Strategic thinking and customer-centricity can help, but the best entrepreneurs are more born than taught.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Jennis Consulting Group?
Just read The Founder’s 10P Playbook. It’s a summary of all I’ve learned about starting, steering, and leading a business over 30 years of practice..

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Family holidays.
