So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve had a lifelong interest in developing my art. My parents and art teachers encouraged me which led me to my first art exhibition in my hometown’s Art Museum while in fifth grade and then again in High School. Since moving to Houston after college in the Midwest, I continued taking art classes while being the owner of a healthcare consulting business. I’ve taken art classes and workshops by nationally recognized artists over the past 10 years in Houston and throughout the U. S…
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a contemporary landscape artist, the challenge is for me to disguise a theme in order to imply it. I aspire for my work to be engaging because of the mystery: open to many interpretations. So my friend is risk and uncertainty during my painting process.
Also, the painting I do can be a physical challenge so I need to practice yoga daily.

My paintings are characterized by complex colors and gestural mark-making, embodying strong references to the natural world. My inspiration is drawn from an internalized experience of nature which I want to convey. My process is both playfully intuitive and a studied analysis of design elements.
