Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne and Juan.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Suzanne and Juan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 2011 Juan and I started to build cool, unique Industrial furniture from our garage. We loved the idea of creating unique, one of kind furniture with sustainable materials at an affordable price. We developed a concept that was in high demand and decided we needed a larger place to keep up with our client’s demands. We both quit our day jobs and dedicated ourselves to turning our passion into a real business. So we moved our business to a 6000 sq. ft shop/showroom located in the Dallas design district. Such a great adventure!
It was a huge success and two years into it, and with a growing commercial clientele, We had to upgrade into a larger space to be able to keep up with demand. We then moved in 2015 into a 12000sqF shop/showroom in the Industrial district of Dallas, where we could add more employees and keep up with orders.
In 2018 we had to move yet again! It has been such a fun adventure. We are now in a 35000 Sq. ft. shop/Showroom, and it has been great to see the growth. We enjoy meeting our clients and creating a long lasting relationship. We also have the best Team ever! Our employees are key to us.
We wanted to keep up with the adventure and reach new horizons. In 2019 we had the opportunity to open a satellite location in Houston. As an experiment, we started with a six month sublease, and it was such a success that we decided to get our own 5000SqF showroom. We love Houston and it has been such a blessing to be a part of the growth. We look forward to meeting new clients and establishing new relationships with our clients. Let’s see what 2020 has in store for us!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been such a smooth road for us to be honest. We feel so blessed! Our obstacles have been mostly keeping up, to be honest! The only real struggle has been creating the customer base in our Houston location. We are well known in Dallas, but Houston doesn’t know the secret just yet.

At Atico Furniture, we love to create unique industrial inspired furniture. Everything is built from scratch in our Dallas Shop, with sustainable materials. We specialize in custom orders for commercial purposes, creating unique long-lasting pieces, at a very affordable price. We use REAL WOOD & REAL STEEL. We also stand behind our product and the uniqueness each piece has.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To us, success is loving what you do and being at peace with who you are. We have been in business for nine years and have a great clientele base that keeps us busy and loves us! We also have an amazing Team that is part of who we have become. We dislike debt, and don’t bite more than we can chew.
