Today we’d like to introduce you to Sylvia Dorsey and Elizabeth Fertitta.
Sylvia Longoria Dorsey opened Longoria Collection in 1993 after finding that Houston lacked a wonderful home and interiors store. She had been doing interior design for many years and was frustrated at her inability to find quality linens and home accessories in Houston. The store started at the corner of Woodway and Voss with 2,000 sq. feet and after several expansions, the store is now located in Uptown Park in an 8,000 sq. foot space. In 1999, Sylvia’s daughter Elizabeth Fertitta joined the family business and together the business has grown into what it is today.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As with any business when the market isn’t at its best, it trickles down. We feel so fortunate to be located in the city of Houston where businesses and people are so diverse that even during difficult markets we have persevered.

-Longoria Collection is a luxury home store. All things beautiful for the home.
-Specializing in fine bed linens like Matouk, Sferra, Yves Delorme and Peacock Alley.
-We are known for carrying design oriented products like Alexandra Von Furstenberg, Kelly Wearstler, and Aerin Lauder.
– We always searching worldwide for the finest in each category. Be it decorative accessories, lighting, bathroom accessories and towels. From Artwork to frames. From the smallest detail to a statement piece.
-We are very proud of curating and editing the best of what is out there and bringing it to our customers.
-Longoria Collection is pleased to be carrying a wonderful variety of designer furniture such as Ralph Lauren and Kelly Wearstler.
– We are a retail store with a strong focus on designers and helping them complete their projects.
-I believe what sets us apart is our devotion to customer service and desire to meet our customer needs.
-We are most proud that our design aesthetic is so true to who we are. Any item in our store we would be happy to have in our own homes.
