Meet Tamara Gipson of TT Innovative Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Gipson.

Hi Tamara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After a great, fulfilling 22-year career as an elementary educator, presenter, and technology coach, I wanted to return my dream! Becoming a CEO has always been in the back of my mind but how? The answer and step always escaped me. I credit the onset of my tutelage to GPI. Under the training of Ms. Sherrilynn Tolliver, learning to be a secure business owner through Ms. Paula Watts (CEO of Government Procurement Innovators [GPI]) course.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Even with the best training and preparation things come up that can knock you off course. We’ve experienced some highs and lows and are grateful for the advice and assistance. Our biggest hurdle is acquiring a steady stream of customers to have the type of cash flow to be as competitive as our counterparts. Another hurdle is securing outside funding for the amount needed to reach the next level of our business goal.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a for-profit business that believes in you achieving your goals. TTIS is our acronym. We seek to teach, train, and provide innovative solutions for our customers. Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The lesson I’ve learned is to prepare, network, and execute. During COVID-19 crisis, we were secluded from our normal social behaviors, and this led to a lot of internalization of ourselves and the world around us. I had time to really focus on where I was, ask myself, is this where I want to be? Is this all I hope for? The answer was no. I wanted to explore entrepreneurship, and so I began to prepare. I began joining programs, courses, webinars, whatever I could get connected to in order to feed this inner desire. Next came the networking; it really was simultaneous while exploring the programs that I was able to patch into. Then it was time to execute, and I didn’t want to cheat my efforts, so I launched a full-time mission. I left my job of 19 years to follow my dreams. I said, “If I can’t make it financially after 1 year, I’ll return.” We’re on year three and thriving!
