Meet Tammy Trovato of Creative Interior Home Staging in Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammy Trovato.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tammy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I always knew that I wanted my own business. Growing up with a father who had multiple businesses, I experienced first hand how rewarding it could be. He is a general contractor and developer who builds apartments and custom homes. My mother would let me help her design the homes and since then, I have always loved the design process and seeing the transformation.

As a Realtor, I noticed a pattern of seeing so many homes on the market with multiple price reductions. I wanted to change that, and help not only the Realtors but the homeowners and builders get top dollar for their home while decreasing the days on market.

I started Creative Interior Home Staging with my two sons, Robby and Michael in 2018 and became a certified staging design professional. My niece Krystal soon joined the company as a professional stager also.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The biggest challenge has been educating Realtors and potential clients on the value of staging. A lot of times the homeowners will want to wait and see how the home does first when it is listed. The problem with that is the home gets the most attention when it first hits the market.

Today’s buyers will view the home online first and if they don’t like what they see they won’t even bother looking at the property. In the meantime the homeowner is occurring all the monthly expenses and probably several price decreases.

I also own all of my furnishings so that has been a huge expense. I am always adding to my inventory and usually buying for each home we stage so running out of storage space has been a problem. It’s also hard work!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Creative Interior Home Staging – what should we know?
Creative Interior Home Staging specializes in vacant, occupied and model home staging. We work with homeowners, Realtors, investors and builders to get their homes ready for the market for a quick sell. For vacant homes we bring in furniture and accessories and offer several staging packages to fit any budget.

With occupied staging we will rearrange the homeowner’s furniture to highlight the homes beautiful features. We determine what items need to be packed or put away, and if any additional accessories may be needed.

We also have a builder home to home program. When one home sells we move the furnishings to the next inventory home helping lower the cost for builders.

Walk and talk consultations are for homeowners who need advice on getting their home ready. We will start at the curb of the home and walk through each room telling the homeowner in detail everything that needs to be done. We give advice on everything from the flower beds, furniture placement, paint colors to what to pack and put away.

We love seeing how excited our clients get after seeing the transformation. The first home we staged actually had multiple offers the first day on the market! We always put our hearts in every project and truly love what we do.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I am so blessed to have such a supportive family. When I wanted to start this business my two sons Robby and Michael Trovato were definitely my biggest cheerleaders. They believed in me and the business from the start and gave me that confidence to go for it. They have been involved in every step of the way from building a professional website (Michael coded it himself!) to buying and picking up new inventory and Robby handling the financial side of the business.

I also couldn’t have done it without my niece Krystal Schultze! We are such a great team staging together. She has been the biggest help from the beginning and has put in so much work and time helping with everything from marketing to staging. I love that I get to work with my family everyday!
