Meet Tanya Salinas of Infinity Family Clinic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Salinas.

Hi Tanya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m originally from Palmview Texas, a small town in South Texas. I started my journey in healthcare by earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas–Pan American in Edinburg in 2014. I began my career working with first-time, low-income mothers and their babies, and I later continued my nursing work in the hospital setting. Those early years shaped my passion for patient care and community service.

I went back to school to advance my education and earned my Master’s in Nursing, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2019. Shortly after, I moved to Manvel, Texas, and spent two years working at a clinic in Channelview. During that time, I realized how strong my desire was to create something of my own—something that would truly serve the community I was now a part of.

When I noticed that Manvel didn’t have a local clinic, I decided to take the leap and open one myself. Within the first year, my practice was honored with Small Business of the Year by the Alvin–Manvel Chamber of Commerce, which affirmed the need and the impact we were making. Since then, I’ve been committed to providing compassionate, accessible care and have had the privilege of seeing lives changed and even lives saved.

Today, I’m expanding my vision by opening a MedSpa in partnership with my NP colleague, located right next to my family clinic. My goal continues to be the same: to uplift my community by offering high-quality, patient-centered care in every stage of life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most small business owners, my journey hasn’t been easy. In the beginning, opening my clinic came with a lot of stress and uncertainty. I invested everything into it—my time, my energy, my savings—and there were many sleepless nights wondering if it would work out. One of the biggest challenges early on was the financial pressure. I worried about how I would cover salaries and keep the doors open while the practice was still growing.

But giving up was never an option. I pushed through by showing up every single day, going out into the community, attending events, meeting people, and introducing myself and my clinic to anyone who would listen. I had to advocate for myself and my vision. Little by little, the hard work paid off. The community started to respond, the patient volume grew, and the business became stable.

As you know, we’re big fans of Infinity Family Clinic. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I own and operate a full-service family practice that provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Our services include preventive annual physicals, well-woman and men’s health visits, management of chronic conditions, walk-in availability for sick visits, weight-loss management, and hormone replacement therapy for both women and men. My goal has always been to create a clinic where patients can receive high-quality, accessible care close to home.

What truly sets us apart is the way we care for our patients. I take time with every person who walks through our doors. I listen—not just to their symptoms, but to their concerns, their lifestyle, and their goals. I treat my patients like family, and I believe strongly in education. Rather than jumping straight to medication, I empower patients with lifestyle changes and preventive approaches that can significantly improve their health.

At the heart of my practice is genuine compassion. I’m not driven by numbers; I’m driven by people. When a patient tells me they’re grateful, or that I changed their life, that is the most meaningful reward I could ever receive. That level of connection and trust is what makes my practice different, and it’s the foundation of everything we do.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My biggest advice for finding a mentor or networking is simple: don’t be afraid to ask for help. You’ll encounter people who may ignore you, but you’ll also meet people who are genuinely willing to support you—and those connections can make all the difference.

What has worked well for me is putting myself out there. I made it a priority to attend chamber of commerce events, community gatherings, and any networking opportunities I could find. The more you show up, the more relationships you build. Networking isn’t just about exchanging business cards—it’s about forming real friendships and meaningful connections with people who want to see you succeed.

There are so many individuals and business owners who are eager to help; you just have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone, introduce yourself, and stay open to learning from others
