Today we’d like to introduce you to Tausha Jackson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I come from working in Corporate America, but was feeling bored and unfulfilled. I wanted to get into the Medical Field, but because of my fears of exposure to disease and seeing blood, I found myself going to school for Physical Therapy. I completed 2 years of Prerequisites and quickly became bored with the Industry and researched other Alternatives, I ran across a Hospital based Massage Therapy program in 2010 and enrolled. A year later, 2011, I graduated took and passed the State exam and went on to pursue my new career as an LMT(Licensed Massage Therapist). I worked several Massage facilities, Contract jobs, and 3 Chiropractor offices to learn the business so I could go out on my own. I launched my Mobile Massage business in 2012 “WWAM Mobile Massage”, quickly building both Corporate and private clients who enjoyed the convenience of onsite Massage services.
Over the years I felt I needed an option for my clients to come see me, and a break from mobile service from time to time, so I opened my private practice “Houston Therapeutic Bodyworx” in 2015. Today I juggle both my private practice and my Mobile company, my most popular services are Spa Parties, Prenatal Massage and Corporate Wellness. I also work with Geriatric and Special needs Adults and Children and mentor others in my Industry
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t been easy, the biggest struggle as an Entrepreneur is consistency and knowing how to reinvent yourself. The world is changing so fast and you have to change with it or get left behind. I remain relevant by researching the “needs” of my Target Market and paying attention to trends.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Houston Therapeutic Bodyworx story. Tell us more about the business.
Houston Therapeutic Bodyworx is a small Massage practice that basically provides Massage Therapy for those seeking Stress/Pain Relief and who does not want to pay expensive rates. We pride ourselves in being able to provide quality low-cost services to North Houston and surrounding areas, I mean we have clients that travel from across town to get services from us, and what sets us apart from competition is not being afraid to think outside the box in terms of creating services that will keep clients booking with us
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Massage Therapy has gained popularity over the past few years with many consumers switching to Alternative methods of treatments and seeking unconventional ways to entertain, so I see the Industry growing and gaining more respect over the next few years.
