Meet Taylor Morgan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Morgan.

Taylor Morgan

Hi Taylor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I got started as an actress when I was a teenager in my middle school program at Centerville High School. From there I was bullied out of the program, but I never really lost my passion for acting. I started to dive deep into learning the craft and the techniques of becoming a good actress. I would do chores while listening to acting classes in my headphones and taking notes. I remember mowing the grass while listening to Wendy Alane Wright and stopping every 5 minutes to take notes. Once graduating high school and moving to college, I built my team consisting of a manager, an agent, and a coach. With my team, I started to build my acting resume in the film industry, working in commercials, indie films, short films, and feature films all across the state of Texas.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Acting itself came easy; I love learning about the craft and perfecting it, and each day, I get excited to learn more. However, the journey itself has never been easy. I’d drive 4-6 hours to be on set for 10-15 minutes of non-paid background work just to be on set. I was denied to so many managers and agents for having a “too similar of a look” that it took me nearly two years. I have slept overnight in my car, left for set at 2-3 AM, and gone days without sleeping to make sure I am well-rehearsed and on time to set every time. Although it has its hardships, it’s what I love to do. There is also very little support from friends or family went in the acting industry. No matter how many times you tell people that you are an actress, they will always follow with OK, but what is your real job? You know only one 1 million make it to the top, right? Someone has to be that one in 1 million so why not me? My absolute rock, my boyfriend, Carter, is my biggest support system, and I could not be more grateful to have him by my side as I climb the ladder of this ruthless but rewarding industry, that I absolutely love.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a local actress + stunt woman + host! Currently known for my work in horror series with Dire Wolf Films, you can also spot me in features such as “Stay” and “The Personals; XYZ”. Outside of film, I am the host for the reality TV show “Behind the Veil,” located right here in Houston. I’m currently working on three short films and three features that I cannot wait to share with you guys!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
Luck has absolutely nothing to do with my success. All of my wins and losses go to God. God gives me the strength to pursue this industry even when I reach burnout or feel defeated.
