Today we’d like to introduce you to Terra Briscoe-Adams.
Terra, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Having a clothing line is something that I wanted not only for me but for my kids. Also, for those young girls that had similar background stories as me. I was a teen mom who soon graduated from undergraduates and later with my masters going after my fears of becoming successful. I went from working jobs making little money to owning my own. I never let my trials and tribulations stop me from jumping each hurdle in this race called life.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Knowing how much I established into my business and my desires towards my aspirations. I started WiddleToes with a plan, a baby in my tummy, one on my hip, and a teenager standing right beside me. Everything was from scratch. However, it was sincere and as raw as you can imagine. I did not have much, but I had a dream. “Inspired by infants and motivated by this mom”.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
We are coming up on four years of being a full-time entrepreneur and word can not express the growth of Widdle Toes. We specialize in building bonds. Yes, I have clothes that are cute, which makes a profit, but the experience is what I live for. Widdle Toes is a mommy and me brand. It’s a universal platform that builds a bond and breaks curses. Almost every little girl look up to their mom. Moms are usually the first role model in their daughter’s lives. They want to look just like their mommy. Widdle Toes offer fashion, education and literacy.
Fashion: We have a range of children items but our main products are matching mommy and me clothes.
Education: Widdle Learning is coming soon. It’s a fundamental app that help children with Letters, Number, Shapes and Colors.
Literacy: Widdle Toes currently have a book on Amazon called “Widdle Penelope.” It’s a children’s book that help with imagination, rhyming and life lessons.
I am most proud of seeing my customers in the clothes that I design and sharing those memories with their daughters and sons. Widdle Toes has its own trends, unlike the big department stores. Most of our products are custom made and can’t be bought anywhere else.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was the awkward skinny girl who played by herself. I had a total of five brothers and sisters and still found joy in being by myself. I had great grades and was president of the student council. I thought I would be a lawyer because I can always tell if someone wasn’t telling the truth. Long story shorty, I knew I was destined for greatness at a young age.
