Today we’d like to introduce you to Terra Briscoe-Adams.
Terra, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my business working as a full-time accounting specialist and full-time graduate student at the University of Houston- Downtown. I was expecting my second daughter and need some more funds to do so. I was determined to be successful. I always loved fashion so it was fitting to start my baby line. I was also that mother who loved dressing my daughter and I in matching outfits.
It was a trend that I started with my oldest daughter 17 years ago. I was thinking how can I start this business if my budget was on a budget. I now have been in business for three years and recently had my third child. Business is booming and I give all glory to God!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Throughout my entrepreneurial experience, I’ve witnessed a lack of inventory, funds, and resources. I remember someone telling me. “If you’re failing, you’re on the right track.” Some may be discouraged and quit but that gave me fuel to keep pushing forward. Through this journey, I gave it my all…. even when I had nothing to give. I wake up everyday expecting it to be better than the last.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Widdle Toes story. Tell us more about the business.
I specialize in building bonds. Yes, I have clothes that are cute which makes a profit. But the experience is what I live for. Widdle Toes is a mommy and me brand. It’s a universal platform that builds bond and breaks curses. Little girl looks up to their mom. Moms are usually the first role model in their daughter’s lives, they want to look just like their mommy.
Widdle Toes offer fashion, education and literacy.
Fashion: We have a range of children items but our main products are matching mommy and me clothes.
Education: Widdle Learning is a fundamental app that help children with Letters, Number, Shapes and Colors.
Literacy: Widdle Toes currently have a book on Amazon called “Widdle Penelope”. It’s a children’s book that help with imagination, rhyming and life lessons.
I am most proud of seeing my customers in the clothes that I design and sharing those memories with their daughter and sons.
Widdle Toes has its own trends unlike the big department stores. Most of our products are custom made and can’t be bought anywhere else.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck, I believe in purpose and work. If I work hard enough the right people and customers will find my business. I have been blessed to network with many influencer to help promote my brand and spread awareness.
