Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrance Taylor.
Terrance, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Photography started for me as just a mild hobby back in 2010. I would take photos of my friends and make birthday party flyers out of them. I’ve always had an interest in bringing out the best in people through photographs.
My vision for Bleu Print Photography didn’t happen until 2014. It all started with a camera I purchase from a pawnshop. With that camera, I set out to learn more about the craft and developing my own business. I knew this was something I absolutely wanted to pursue. With a lot of prayer and support from my family and friends, I made it happen.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the big struggles going into the photography business would have to be the financial aspect of it. I knew this was something I loved to do but I didn’t know it would be so costly. However, I’m a man of great faith and determination so I worked hard, saved up and got things I needed. I’m still growing my business bit by bit but things are going much better now.
I also had the obstacle of suffering from anxiety disorder. I never thought I would be able to get past my social anxiety in order to work with different client. Surprisingly, photography has been therapeutic in helping me work through my disorder. Now I love meeting new people and helping them get over their fears of being in front of the camera.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Bleu Print Photography specializes in capturing the natural beauty of my subject. Today’s photography seems to be more about modeling and fashion. From families to lovers to baby’s first birthday, my company is here to capture those important moments in life. My goal is to bring that natural raw beauty back to photography. I want my clients to see the best version of themselves through my work.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a very imaginative kid. I would climb this big tree at home and pretend I was in the jungle or on a ship in the middle of the ocean. I was also very shy and quiet at times. Unlike most little boys, I wasn’t interested in sports or video games. I was more interested in the arts (music, theatre, etc.)
