Meet Terry Tribble, MBA of Brand It Local

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry Tribble, MBA.

Hi Terry, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my first business, Houston Wellness Boutique, before the pandemic. It was a wellness boutique that supported women undergoing breast cancer treatment. As a Certified Mastectomy Fitter, I helped women rebuild their confidence by fitting them for post-surgical garments, wigs, and creating permanent eyebrows to restore what cancer had taken away. When the pandemic hit, business slowed down because clients were afraid to visit, so I began working at MD Anderson Cancer Center, which gave me valuable experience and perspective.

Even though I loved helping people, I knew I wanted to make a broader impact. With a master’s degree in marketing and international business, and a background in project management and corporate events at Chevron, I decided to combine everything I had learned into something bigger. That’s when I launched Brand It Local, a marketing and consulting agency that helps small businesses automate, scale, and thrive.

Today, I use my creativity, business experience, and passion for people to help other entrepreneurs feel seen and supported. Through marketing strategy, AI consulting, and photo experiences like The Booth That Moves, I help brands make meaningful connections and grow with confidence.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. When I first started Brand It Local, one of my biggest challenges was balancing all of the ideas I had. I was so excited and full of vision that I tried to do everything at once instead of testing and focusing on one thing at a time. That experience taught me the importance of clarity and consistency.

Another major challenge was visibility, especially with the photo booth side of my business. Many people assumed it was just for fun and entertainment, but my roaming photo booths are actually powerful marketing tools. We use them to help businesses capture customer data, collect emails and birthdays, and set up automations that keep those customers engaged long after an event. It took time to educate people on that difference and to show the real value behind it.

Transitioning from my wellness boutique into marketing and AI consulting was another emotional shift. At Houston Wellness Boutique, I worked closely with women fighting breast cancer, helping them rebuild confidence during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Moving from that environment to helping businesses understand AI and marketing strategies was a big change, but it also reminded me how connected both paths really are. In both cases, I am helping people, whether it is rebuilding their confidence or helping them grow their business.

The biggest lessons I have learned are to always stay trainable, stay flexible, and never be afraid to pivot. Things change quickly, especially with AI, and being open to learning has made all the difference.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about Houston is that it is truly a multicultural city filled with diversity, flavor, and community. We have the most amazing food from all over the world, and I love that you can find authentic grocery stores and small markets that represent so many different countries and cultures. Houston gives you a little bit of everything, and it is what makes our city so special.

What I like least is that sometimes it feels like different parts of the city are disconnected. For example, when you are downtown or in the Montrose area, you always know what is happening, but it can be harder to hear about what is going on in other places like Katy, Pearland, or The Woodlands without making that long drive. I wish there was more awareness and connection between these areas because each one has so much to offer. Still, I love Houston for its endless opportunities, amazing people, and the energy that keeps this city moving forward.
