So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being a pre-dental student, tuition can be expensive. On a daily basis, I found myself constantly thinking of ways that I could help my husband with the financial burden. It was clear that we needed another source of income for our growing family. Then one day the idea of opening a women’s clothing boutique emerged. I mentioned it to my husband, and he quickly ran along with the idea. We began by doing research and informing ourselves with everything we needed to run a successful business. Nevertheless, we had support from family and friends who are entrepreneurs as well. We can’t thank them enough.
It took a couple of months before we came up with a plan and put it in action. Fear of failing paralyzed me several times but I convinced myself that going for it was better than not trying at all. Day and night I poured my heart into the boutique, from sourcing distributors, choosing audience to establishing the brand. Slowly but surely, everything seemed to be falling into place. I officially launched in April of this year. It has been rough but I know that success requires time, nothing ever happens overnight. My hope for Metanoia Boutique is to make a ground-breaking difference in our town and surrounding areas.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. I struggle everyday trying to keep up with it at times. As a mom of three and full-time student, I find myself being all over the place, juggling time and learning how to prioritize. There’s days I wish we had more than twenty-four hours. Fashion is fast-paced, therefore I have to keep up with new trends and seasons. It’s constant dedication. Social Media also plays an important role, you have to keep followers engaged otherwise, they will lose interest in your brand.

Metanoia Boutique is dedicated to all the women who have found themselves transitioning from one stage of their life to another. Some examples are overcoming adversity, overcoming a mental state, weight loss journey, and nevertheless experiencing growth in financial, spiritual, personal areas. We specialize in women’s clothing anywhere from size Small to 3x, accessories, and footwear. I’m proud of my brand because we are trying to change the way women views themselves. We encourage self-love and positivism. I think what sets us apart is our work ethic, dedication and being bilingual.

I’m surrounded by a group of female entrepreneurs in our community who day by day encourages me to keep going. When I fall, they pick me up and vice versa. I don’t know where I’d be without them. They have given me the necessary advice to be successful.
