Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiana Montgomery.
Hi Tiana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
HOUSTON, TX – JETSET Pilates, the fast-growing modern Reformer Pilates franchise offering
premium, full-body workouts, is proud to announce the upcoming grand opening of its first
Houston city location in the River Oaks neighborhood. Located at 3515 W. Dallas Street, Suite
200, the new 1,800-square-foot studio is expected to open Spring 2026 with a grand opening
celebration to follow.
JETSET Pilates River Oaks is owned and operated by Tiana Montgomery, a women’s
healthcare professional with over a decade of experience caring for others during some of
life’s most meaningful and vulnerable moments. A registered nurse by training with a master’s in science of nursing, she has worked across labor and delivery, oncology, and medical device sales. These experiences deeply shaped her
perspective on physical health, emotional wellbeing, and the importance of creating spaces for
women to feel supported. Her passion for wellness has long been both personal and
professional, guiding her work and ultimately inspiring her path into studio ownership. After
experiencing a particularly difficult pregnancy, Tiana turned to Pilates during her postpartum
recovery as a way to rebuild strength, reconnect with her body, and support her mental health,
and is now looking to bring its meaningful impact to her community.
“Pilates played such a meaningful role in helping me regain my strength and confidence after
pregnancy,” said Montgomery. “When I took my first JETSET class, I felt an immediate
connection not just to the workout itself, but to how it supported both my physical and mental
wellbeing. Opening this studio is incredibly personal for me. It allows me to take what has
always been my chosen career, supporting women’s health, and extend it into something I am
truly passionate about: creating a space where others can prioritize themselves.”
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the more prominent challenges in opening my Pilates studio has been navigating unexpected construction delays, including a significant setback involving our former national general contractor who stepped away from the project near the final phase of our buildout.
That experience exposed a deeply callous side of the construction industry I had not previously encountered. While difficult, it became one of the most valuable leadership lessons of this journey. I’ve gained a depth of knowledge about build outs, timelines, and oversight that I never imagined I would have, it has truly been an unexpected masterclass in resilience and project management.
I feel like I can do a build out with my eyes closed now lol (just kidding)! I’m deeply grateful for the team at Mertzon Construction, who has stepped in with professionalism and urgency to help bring my studio across the finish line. I’m equally thankful for the incredible subcontractors here in Houston who have shown integrity, craftsmanship, and commitment throughout this process. Challenges refine you. And this one strengthened both the foundation of the studio and the leader behind it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a women’s health clinician with over a decade of experience in Labor & Delivery and Obstetrics, and I currently serve as a Nurse Consultant for a medical device company specializing in maternal health. My clinical background is rooted in high-acuity care, patient advocacy, and supporting women through some of the most transformative moments of their lives.
I earned my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2020. While I ultimately chose not to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner, the advanced training shaped how I think… critically, holistically, and with long-term strategy in mind.
Today, I am also the owner of JETSET Pilates River Oaks (Houston’s first location), a modern, music-driven Pilates studio focused on strength, alignment, and intentional movement. My work now bridges clinical knowledge with modern wellness, helping clients not only heal and recover, but build strength, confidence, and longevity.
I specialize in women’s health, maternal wellness, and movement as preventative care. I am known for combining evidence-based thinking with elevated, lifestyle forward execution. Whether in a hospital setting or a studio, I lead with precision, clarity, and vision.
What I am most proud of is my ability to evolve while still being able to dive even deeper into wellness and caring for others, to transition from bedside clinician to healthcare strategist to entrepreneur without losing the integrity and discipline that healthcare instilled in me all while being a mom to a toddler is no easy feat lol but i’m extremely passionate about it all!
What sets me apart is integration. I understand the anatomy of the body from both a clinical and performance perspective. I can bring medical credibility into wellness spaces, and I can bring wellness awareness into clinical conversations. This allows me to help build and shape experiences as well as brands that are not just beautiful, but intelligent.
What makes you happy?
Being a mother makes me happy! It sound cliche i’m sure but there is no joy comparable to the pure happiness and love your children bring into your world. Mom is my favorite title to hold always.
