Meet Tien Tran of TienEats in Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tien Tran.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tien. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In my first year of college, I always tend to take pictures of food since the Houston food is very unique and diverse. My friends were always recommending me some restaurants that I would need to go try out in Houston. Since I lived in Cypress, it’s a little bit further for me, but it’s worth it to try it out. Then a few years later in 2017, I decided to make an Instagram account about food to share my experience of food as my food diary. A year later, I went to my first tasting in October 2018, I get to meet an inspiring food and lifestyle bloggers that would inspire me to change my content a little more. Since then, I have grown a lot in the foodie community and I hope that my account inspires people more to try out more Houston restaurants as an adventure.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
In the beginning, I didn’t post much on Instagram because I was busy with school. It’s a little bit of struggle balancing school and food life when it comes to posting pictures of social media. Six months later, I decided to get back into it and post my pictures of food on social media as Tieneats. I always loved taking pictures of food on my phone and posting it on social media. As the time goes on, food blogging has become one of my best experiences of my life. I get to meet so many awesome food bloggers and bond with them about our common interest of food which is so much fun!

I’m considered very lucky to be involved in the foodie community. Overall, the food blogging came into my life as a blessing and the motivation for taking pictures of food. I’m so grateful that I get to continue food blogging because I’m very passionate about it and I’m able to connect with other food bloggers who has the same passion of food.
