Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Haynes.
Tierra, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Tierra, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.I am a wife to a college basketball coach and mom to three boys. I became a stay-at-home mom about four years ago when my husband took a job out of state. The first year being away from family and completely engulfed in motherhood duties to two toddlers, I felt myself slipping away. Work had once filled a void; I was able to see my work come to completion, but once I stopped working, I lost that sense of completion because nothing is ever finished in motherhood. Finally, however, after some nudges from close friends, I jumpstarted my online presence and podcast “Mommy on the Move”. This podcast is my unfiltered perspective filled with very honest and very real pitfalls, peaks, and the beautiful mom moments in between, because that’s what motherhood is – finding the beauty in the chaos.
Has it been a smooth road?
Heck no! There’s a constant battle of feeling overwhelmed, unimportant, or like it’s all for nothing. But then I’ll receive a message from a mom who listened to a podcast episode, or read an Instagram caption, telling me she feels the same and that my page is her safe space. That is why I do what I do – provide a community for women who feel alone on their journey.
Please tell us about Mommy On the Move.
Mommy On the Move is my journey through life on the move through marriage, motherhood, faith, fitness, and everything in between. It was created to be an encouragement and safe space for other women on this journey, and, hopefully, inspire and motivate them to keep going. The best compliment I ever received is that my page feels genuine. In a space where people are only sharing their “highlight reels” and living behind filtered curated content, my only goal was to be transparent in the good and the bad and learn right alongside my audience as life teaches us our individual lessons. Once you’ve entered my world, you’ll see everything, from life as a boy mom, snippets of the coach’s wife life, my health and wellness journey, mentally and physically, and, of course, a million memes that make me laugh until I cry.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Houston is a vibrant city with rich culture.
And, of course, as a Midwest/East Coast girl, the weather is my favorite!
