Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Johnson.
Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
What started as goat yoga on a small, different property slowly grew into something much bigger. I didn’t grow up running a farm, but I was fortunate to have aunts, uncles, and grandparents who did. Spending time on their farms with cousins and friends, experiencing animals in their natural environment, left a lasting impression on me. Those moments were grounding, joyful, and deeply therapeutic—and they shaped how I see the world.
Today, I believe this kind of connection is something many families are missing. Most people now experience animals only at zoos, rodeos, or petting zoos, which is very different from being with animals in a calm, natural setting. While working in medical sales, I found myself unfulfilled and longing for more meaning, and I felt a strong pull to build something more intentional for my family and my community.
We started small, bringing animals onto our land and opening our gates to friends and neighbors who wanted to experience the joy, calm, and healing that comes from being around them. It quickly became clear that this wasn’t just a farm—it was a place where people felt welcomed, grounded, and restored.
Over time, that vision grew into ROSE Therapeutic Farm. We expanded thoughtfully, adding experiences that encourage connection, including animal encounters, educational programs, wellness events, and opportunities for families, children, and teams to slow down and reconnect—with nature and with each other.
Today, the farm is the result of a lot of heart, hard work, learning as we go, and an unwavering belief in the power of simple moments. I’m incredibly grateful for how far it’s come and excited to keep growing while staying true to the mission that started it all.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Like most meaningful things, building the farm has come with its share of challenges. One of the biggest has been finding and building the right team—people who truly care about the animals, the mission, and the level of responsibility that comes with both.
Ensuring animal health has also been one of the most emotional and difficult parts of this journey. When you care for this many animals and love them like your own children, loss is inevitable—and it never gets easier. Losing some of my babies along the way has been heartbreaking and has shaped me deeply, reinforcing just how much responsibility and heart this work requires. I am still grieving many losses today 🙁
There have also been significant physical challenges. Our land sits in a floodplain, which has meant years of hard work raising areas, improving drainage, and building safe, accessible pathways. Every building on the property represents countless hours of planning, labor, problem-solving, and perseverance. There has been a lot of blood, sweat, and tears poured into this place—often behind the scenes—but every challenge has strengthened my commitment to doing this the right way.
Looking back, none of it was easy—but every obstacle helped shape the farm into what it is today.
We’ve been impressed with ROSE Therapeutic Farm, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ROSE Therapeutic Farm is a working farm created to help people slow down and reconnect—with animals, nature, and each other. We offer hands-on animal experiences, wellness and therapeutic programming, educational opportunities, and special events for families, kids, schools, and corporate groups.
What makes us different is that nothing here is staged. Our animals live on the farm and are deeply loved and cared for every single day. When guests visit, they’re meeting animals in their own environment, learning their stories, and experiencing the calm and connection that naturally comes from being present.
We are also truly a working farm. We collect fresh eggs daily and sell them in our farm store, responsibly place select baby goats as pets only, and are in the process of producing our own honey to offer on-site. We’re also partnering with our next-door neighbor to sell pasture-raised beef, supporting ethical local agriculture and giving our community access to high-quality farm products.
We are especially known for our immersive, joy-filled farm experiences that invite guests of all ages to slow down and connect. Our offerings blend fun, education, and wellness, creating memorable moments that feel both playful and meaningful.
Our signature farm activities include:
Goat yoga
Baby goat snuggle sessions
Cocoa, cookies, and cow cuddles
Easter egg hunts with goats
Pumpkin carving with goats
Team-building experiences and corporate wellness events
Educational field trips for schools and homeschool groups
What I’m most proud of is the trust people place in us. ROSE Therapeutic Farm has become a place families return to again and again because it feels genuine. Everything we do is intentional, and our hope is that every visit leaves people feeling a little lighter, more grounded, and more connected.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’ve always been an animal lover. Even as a child, I felt a stronger connection to animals than I did to most people—and somehow, they seemed to feel that connection too. I was the one who could bond with the cat everyone else said was unfriendly, and the shy stray dog on the street would always run straight to me.
Growing up wasn’t easy. My family was split, and I moved around a lot, which made life feel unsettled at times. As I got older, I slowly lost that daily connection with animals as sports, boys, and the busyness of life took over. Still, something always felt missing.
I found my way back to that passion while traveling the world. In 2017, I completed my yoga teacher training in Morocco, an experience that helped me reconnect with myself and reminded me of what truly fulfilled me. Not long after, I made the difficult decision to leave my career in medical sales. While it was financially rewarding, I came home every day feeling empty, like I wasn’t making a meaningful impact on the world.
That leap of faith led to the creation of Goat Yoga Katy. I’ll never forget teaching my very first class—watching women smile, laugh, and relax as they moved through yoga poses while goats bounced around, climbed onto backs, and curled up in laps. It was joyful, healing, and completely life-changing.
Today, I’m still deeply grateful that I get to share that feeling with others. Creating spaces where people can laugh, breathe, and reconnect—just as animals once helped me do—has become the heart of everything I do
