Meet Tiffany Wilson of Devi Hair Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Wilson.

Hi Tiffany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started in the industry over 20 years ago, beginning as a salon assistant. It was definitely grunt work, but looking back, it was one of the most important parts of my journey. I had the opportunity to work under a highly skilled and successful stylist, and that experience laid the foundation for my career.

Wanting to deepen my understanding of haircutting, I enrolled in the Vidal Sassoon Academy. I knew I needed a solid education in the fundamentals—the ABCs of cutting—and that program gave me exactly that.

Over the years, I worked in several salons throughout the Pearland area, eventually opening my own space, Devi Hair Studio, which I operated for three years. While I’m proud of that chapter, I came to realize that salon ownership wasn’t my true passion. What really drives me is working directly with my clients and focusing on healthy hair.

Today, I’m known for my Silkpress techniques and my commitment to healthy hair care. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for every step that’s brought me to where I am now.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. One of the most challenging parts of being a hairstylist has been navigating the customer service side of the business. Some clients become like friends or even family, which is beautiful—but it also makes it even more important to maintain healthy boundaries.

There was a time when I let my appointment book completely run my life. I was so focused on getting my clients ready for their events that I’d miss out on actually living my own life. Eventually, I realized I deserve to show up to the party too—not just send my clients out the door looking fabulous.

Another challenge has been managing the emotional energy in the salon. I interact with so many different personalities and emotions throughout the day, and I had to learn not to absorb everyone else’s energy. It’s important to be there for clients, but also to protect my own peace.

In short, compartmentalizing my career and personal life has been key. Learning when to show up fully for my clients and when to prioritize myself has made all the difference.

We’ve been impressed with Devi Hair Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hi, I’m Tiffany Wilson, a hairstylist based in the Pearland area. I specialize in Silkpresses, length retention, healthy hair care, dimensional color, and relaxers. At the heart of my work is a passion for helping clients who truly take pride in their hair and want to see it thrive.

I’m always welcoming new clients, and I’d love the opportunity to help you look and feel your best. Let’s grow healthy, beautiful hair—together!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is traveling and experiencing the world with my husband, Eric. Growing up in the inner city of Oakland and then moving to Houston at 12 really opened my eyes. Back then, I didn’t see many people around me traveling or talking about the importance of seeing the world—and honestly, having the means to do so was a big obstacle.

Now that I can, it feels like such a blessing to explore new places and create those memories with Eric. It’s something I never take for granted.

Spending time with my family and close friends also brings me a deep sense of joy. After losing my mother and brother, I’ve come to value my relationships even more. Life has a way of putting things into perspective, and for me, meaningful connections with loved ones are everything. Interpersonal relationships are truly at the center of my happiness.
