Meet Tina Radzavich of Bad Rick Soaps in Cypress

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Radzavich.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
After being diagnosed with Lyme Disease, I found the need for more natural skin care products. Because of Lyme rashes, changes to my skin and general discomfort, I began studying skin care. I spent a year studying natural oils and butter and how our bodies react to them. From there I learned to handcraft soap. After giving these soaps as gifts, the demand grew and became Bad Rick. Once Bad Rick was open, our line grew to other bath products such as; bath bombs, sugar scrubs, and body butter.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The development and running of Bad Rick Soaps has not always been an easy road. In fact, most of 2016, I was so ill with Lyme and rheumatoid arthritis that it was difficult to work. For several months I had a PICC line and went through two major surgeries. Getting back into the swing of regular business was an uphill struggle.

Please tell us about Bad Rick Soaps.
Bad Rick Soaps makes handmade bath products with a nod to the playful, pop culture-minded customer. All products are made with quality ingredients and recipes to smell and feel the best they can. We make handmade soap, bath bombs, bubble bath, body spray, facial serums, and more. We test all of our recipes to make sure they feel great on your skin and smell equally wonderful. We stand out from other bath and body companies by designing our products to maximize fun, pop culture and relaxation. We create everything from our products to our packaging.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over, I would streamline my process. Instead of purchasing so much to start with, I would have started small to eliminate the need to downsize. Early on, I wanted to make everything rather than focus and specialize. I would have also done craft shows and festivals earlier to get our products known.

Pricing:

  • Handmade Soaps $6-7
  • Bath Bombs $5-6

    Tina,
Thank you for my Christmas products. The lotion is smoothing my dry hands, the body scent is fresh and clean. Most importantly your soap is so moisturizing.
Wishing Bad Rick a very prosperous 2018.
    Love you, Lora
