My journey into founding TMD Bookkeeping Services LLC wasn’t a sudden career change; it was a deliberate evolution fueled by nearly two decades of financial expertise and a deep desire to solve a persistent problem.

For 16 years in banking—serving as a Branch Manager and specializing in business banking—I had a front-row seat to the daily financial struggles of entrepreneurs. I watched countless brilliant business owners get held back, unable to secure critical loans or suffering through audit stress, simply because their internal finances were a mess. Even after managing an accounting department for three years, I saw the recurring theme: small businesses were missing a meticulous, strategic partner to maintain their financial health.

I founded TMD Bookkeeping Services to be that essential partner. I leverage my background in bank reconciliations, loan preparation, and tax compliance to deliver more than just data entry—I deliver confidence and clarity. For nearly two decades in banking, I was highly compensated and had consistent, structured work. Transitioning to founding TMD Bookkeeping Services meant leaving that security.

The Struggle: The initial phase involved overcoming the fear of inconsistency and the emotional hurdle of selling my own services, rather than a bank’s branded product. I’ve had to redefine my worth and learn to charge based on the value delivered (saving clients time and taxes) rather than an hourly rate.

The Lesson: You must be your own biggest advocate. Confidence in my 19 years of financial expertise was the key to unlocking the true value of my services.
