Meet Tracie Momie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracie Momie.

Tracie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My life has been an evolutionary process. I’m constantly reinventing myself every few years. The more I learn, the more I find myself changing my perspective and the things I want to explore. However, I’ve always been interested in writing. I started writing in my early teens and have never stopped. It is the one thing I’m the most passionate about!

I’m also passionate about helping fledgling female entrepreneurs create branding for their business. I offer graphic design services for an affordable price for individuals who are just starting out and I’ve been able to create relationships where these clients come back to me even after they’ve gotten more established and they refer other business my way!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Lately, at the stage (and age) I’m in with respect to both my personal life and business, things have been pretty smooth. However, that has not always been the case. To paraphrase a quote from Theodore Roosevelt, “nothing easy is worthwhile”. Of course, there have been challenges along the way, that’s why my successes are so much sweeter.

My biggest challenges actually came working with organizations where I didn’t feel valued as a contributing member of the team. But from those experiences, I’ve learned to not only trust myself more and have confidence in my abilities but I’ve also realized that I possess the skills and aptitude to be successful in a leadership/owner role. I don’t have to be regulated to the back seat when I’m more than capable of driving the car.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I currently have five self-published books in the marketplace. My stories focus on relationships– romantic, familial and friendships. I love writing about the dynamics of how people relate to each other and overcome their issues. I believe my graphic design work compliments (and often supplements) my writing because it involves being creative and thinking outside the box for my clients.

I’ve designed marketing collateral and logos for lawyers, politicians, bloggers, and public speakers. But my main clientele is small business owners just getting started. I think what sets me apart from other graphic designers is that I offer affordable and professional designs with a quick turnaround. And while my designs are always visually appealing, it’s important that it represents my client’s brand and I aim for 100% satisfaction.

The entire design process is a collaborative effort between me and the client.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My tenacity is the characteristic I attribute to my success. Once I am committed to something, there is nothing that keeps me from accomplishing my goal. I earned my bachelor’s degree while pregnant with a pre-schooler and working full time!

I just feel very strongly about doing my absolute best and seeing tasks through to completion- meeting all the goals and deadlines along the way. I honestly feel this is what sets me apart from many other people, I don’t quit when I’m tired or bored with something- I quit when it’s done. But only when it’s done right!
