Brooke, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
B Lauren shop created by Brooke Lauren Westbrooks. A Mother, a Daughter & entrepreneur, I began my entrepreneurship in my early teen stages where I began selling clothes & shoes in high school, with my hustling spirit & strong ambition, I developed a passion for getting it on my own & becoming my own Boss. In 2014, I launched my first Business B LAUREN SHOP selling women’s merch & accessories on a quest to help women boost self-esteem and feel better about themselves simply by looking better, I than a year later launched my “SHAPED BY BLAUREN” women’s shape wear line to help Moms & women like herself to get back there confidence, encouraging women all over, I was always approached by other businesses to put on clothes or gifted free shoes & things just to promote other people’s business, one day this lady hit me and said I made 1500 off your shout out post in just 3 hours she was going on saying how happy she was & thank you so much I’d love to continue doing business with you & it just hit me one day like I’m out here making other people money by promoting their brand I decided to believe in my self & take a step forward & creating something of my own and became the poster child for my own brand with my tiny waist & hour glass figure, with no high school diploma single mom of 3 kids I made 85,000 dollars my first year in business & that’s when I knew I was able to do whatever I put my mind to & set out to do.
Fast forward six years later, I started another company called “FAITH & FITNESS Faith & fitness is a 60 day program designed to kick start & help transition you to improve a healthy lifestyle! Where you will include prayer before your workout which ultimately assists God in helping us achieve our goals. With God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). I have a growing community of over 100,000 people who signed up & joined I plan on taking faith & fitness to the next level and actually visiting state to state country to country the community that was built online. I have people from all over the world in different countries that are apart of Faith & Fitness I’m just tryna continue to find new ways to be innovative & help inspire. Help do my part while I’m here to make and create change in the world.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road I’ve been doing business since 2014 about alil over six years now, anyone who is in business knows it has its highs and lows and being that I don’t really have a big team or staff and mainly everything is ran & done by me personally I’ve definitely had my days But with prayer lots of structure and self-discipline I’ve learned that we can get through anything.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about BLauren and Faith&Fitness – what should we know?
I am a CEO of a multi-million dollar company lol hasn’t hit a million yet but mark my words my business will be very soon, some may know me from the reality TV show on BET called the Westbrooks where me and my family had our own show on BET I’m also a mom of 4 smart beautiful kids, being a teen mom & having kids all through my 20s has definitely been a challenge I’ve struggled a lot felt & dealt with a lot of pain in my life but I’m also very appreciative for all that I’ve been through Pain is a necessary investment for progress I personally feel The struggles of my life created empathy in me I been through so much it created character & helped me be who I am today. I’m currently filming for a reality show done on my family called Westbrooks it will be airing this April 20, 2020.
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
No matter what kind of life you have you can always make the decision to change and God will provide protection and provide for you in that change.
And that your mind is your power that’s why it’s so important to stay focus and stick to your script and try to manifest your dreams if you can think it, you can achieve it.
Always try your best to be effective not affected. And the most important advice of all is anything you allow God in with whether it’s Your relationship or business any time he’s involved, it’s a guarantee you will succeed. With God, all things are possible.
