Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Lancaster.
Christy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I originally grew up in Florida and moved to Texas in my teen years with my mom for her job. I made life tough for myself as a young person but I learned a lot from it. I lacked the ambition that lived inside of me after I completed high school. I went to community college for business & I did not finish. I later learned that this was because that was not what I wanted. It wasn’t my true passion. Hair was my passion. I discovered this in my mid-twenties about five years ago and now, my shop is my baby. 🙂
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Most of the battles I have faced along the way have been internal. I have discovered that my mind & outlook on things makes all the difference. It is important to stay in tune with who you are, who you want to be & how you are feeling. You are a powerful being capable of creating the exact life you desire or don’t desire!

As a hairstylist and salon owner, I am incredibly passionate about people and their hair! I am a full-service salon so I am versed in all hair needs however, I specialize in color & extensions. I am incredibly proud of my salon, The Beauty Shop and the journey it took for me to get here in my own space. I take pride in a thorough consultation and being as transparent as possible with my guest so that we can achieve all your hair dreams to your expectation.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Absolutely! My mother raised me to be very independent, to rely on myself and to go get the things I want! I didn’t find real ambition until my mid-twenties but when I did it lit a fire.
