Today we’d like to introduce you to Daphine Bush.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am from a small town in Louisiana called Lake Charles. I’ve always dreamed of living in a large, innovative, and fast-paced city. In fact, I actually felt that one day this dream would come true. Although I never visited Houston, Texas until my husband and I got engaged, when I moved here, it instantly felt like home! It was here that God began to direct my steps to cultivate my passion for the beauty and fashion industry and inspirational blogging. I’m so excited to be afforded the opportunity to do what I’ve always felt I was born to do.

I love people, and interacting with them brings me immense joy! This platform allows me to connect with people all over the world and share my take on the beauty industry, the power of self-expression through relevant modest fashion, and the importance of incorporating God in every aspect of our lives. My desire is for anyone that comes in contact with my blog to leave with a new outlook on life and the inclination to pursue their passion while remaining connected to God.

Has it been a smooth road?
I would not say that it’s been a smooth journey but it has been fun! I’ve had people to be supportive and some not so much, but I remain focused on my goal to inspire others and this keeps me going.

I would advise anyone with a vision to start a business or blog to pace yourself and never compare yourself to others. This can become discouraging. As long as you stay focused and busy toward your accomplishment of reaching others and providing great content, you’ll be fine.

When I feel discouraged I look over all the inboxes and texts or notes that I’ve received from my followers that have been inspired by what I’m doing and this helps me to stay the course.

I’m a faith and fashion blogger. I inspire others to take the time and invest in yourself. While doing so always be mindful not to compromise your integrity. I’m known for encouraging others and always looking to build others up in some way or another. I’d say what sets me apart is my blog has something for anyone who takes the time to look into it. There is music (I’m a Christian singer), inspirational poems, for those who don’t like to read as much, and fashion inspiration for the people that like to find creative ways to put outfits together. The main component of my blog are the entries written to encourage people to know that being a Christian is something that we should understand is valuable to our lives. I write about life lessons that I’ve learned over the years and hardships that WE have ALL experienced to some degree, and how I overcame.

Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
Absolutely!!! I know that my upbringing has definitely contributed to my desire to help and encourage others this way. Also, I didn’t have much confidence growing up. I dealt with anxiety and insecurities or low self-esteem so now, I love to impart faith to others to believe in themselves and the one who created them! What has caused me to be successful this far is my faith and willingness to look at the needs of others rather than myself.
