Meet Trailblazer Elizabeth Leal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Leal.

Elizabeth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been a person who liked to exercise. Since I was little, my parents always got me in involved in sports or some activity involving physical exercise. Around my teenage years, I got diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance which made my body go through weight gain issues, acne, and all the hormonal mess that comes with this syndrome. So, in order for me to control my body weight I started dieting like crazy and exercising with no successful results. In all that time, I had worked with personal trainers, endocrinologist, and coaches but none really made a difference. In fact, what I gained was a really disordered relationship with food and exercise, body image issues and a lack of confidence in myself.

So, in my quest to figure out what was really was going on with my body, I started doing research and the more I read the more I liked it. This is what really propelled me to change careers and enroll back in school to pursue my second degree, this time in Human Nutrition and Foods and also getting certified as a personal trainer.

Since then, I have opened “Elizabeth Fitness & Nutrition” to offer my services in nutrition and training. My mission is to help women who struggle with yo-yo dieting to achieve fat loss, get confidence and feel much better in the own skin.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. I encounter bumps just as we encounter bumps when we diet or try to adapt a healthy lifestyle. The major struggle that I encountered along the way was my lack of confidence in my ability to help others. But know that confidence comes with time and through helping other people!.

A word of advice for those women trying to get into this industry, get educated and get confident in your abilities to help others. You don’t need to know it all or have a 6 pack abs from the start, but if you know a little more than another person then there will always be room to teach and help others. Above all, be consistent with your work and have a good attitude towards it!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Elizabeth Fitness & Nutrition – what should we know?
In a nutshell, I help women who struggle with yo-yo dieting achieve fat loss, get confidence and feel much better in their own skin.

I coach women, online and in-person. I also specialize in women having PCOS to get their health back.

What sets me apart from others is my style of coaching. I am very “hands-on” with my clients because I know the huge impact that nutrition and training can have on a person. It is very rewarding to see women transform and gain confidence in themselves!.
