Meet Trailblazer Evelin Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelin Martinez.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a proud Latina and I’ve called Houston home for most of my life. Lady Boss Tribe is a worldwide tribe currently at 36K plus followers on Instagram with a strong following from Houston. The purpose of Lady Boss Tribe is to bring you a daily dose of motivation and inspiration into your life as you work towards achieving your personal and entrepreneurial dreams, hopes and goals. By using the power of social media, my knowledge about branding, digital marketing, and my creative skills I seek to inspire and motivate female entrepreneurs worldwide through my daily graphic post. It all began back in December of 2016. I was at a moment in my life where I was done with all the negativity and negative females that surrounded my life. It was also the early stages of my entrepreneurial career. One day, I asked myself, how can I combined my passion for women empowerment with my skills to spread a little bit more positivity into this world. I’m a visual individual and the reason why I love Instagram so much. Creativity comes easier to me… writing not so much.

At the moment, I was following a motivational feed that inspired me so decided to begin my own. Coming up with the name was a very difficult task. I wanted a name that other female could relate to and most importantly, feel part of it. After playing around with so many names, I came up with Lady Boss Tribe and loved it. It was perfect. I design my first graphic ” Call Me Lady Boss” and have continued posting ever since. Through Lady Boss Tribe, Instagram has allowed me to reach thousands of women from all over the world. I receive daily messages from women walking a different path of life. They share with me that Lady Boss Tribe has kept them motivated and anytime they are feeling down they come to my feed to lift their spirits up. That to me is priceless. I love having long conversations with this ladies, share our life goals, struggles we have faced and how we have overcome.

Often, they just need someone to talk too and vent their frustrations. I also get asked so many questions regarding Instagram and how I’ve achieved such a strong following. I’m always available to help, share tips with anyone who reaches out to me. The usual repose I get is “wow, never imagined you would reply back, share your tips with me because most I have reached out to don’t” Also, in collaboration with local lady bosses, last year I was able to put together our first local meet up. Shortly after in collaboration with a fellow friend and lady boss, we put together a Vision Board Party which was a total success. Currently planning our next event.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been everything else but smooth. I have faced many challenges, struggles, roadblocks both personally and career-wise. I just recently became a full-time entrepreneur. Transitioning from working for a boss to being my own boss I must admit was difficult. I had moments where I have felt that giving up would be the best option. I felt so lost. But then, I remember why I started and where I want to be. Lady Boss Tribe has played a tremendous role in my life. To me, it’s more than just a popular feed on a very popular platform. It has opened up so many doors. I’ve have met some of the most incredible, talented, gifted woman both locally and internationally. Who is willing to help me when I’m feeling stuck. I have worked and collaborated with popular brands, organizations, and personalities on Instagram.

Locally, I have collaborated with local lady bosses and organizations whom which we shared the same passion for women empowerment and seek to make a difference through our work. This tribe has to help me grow so much. It has challenged me. I have done things I never in my wildest dreams imagined of doing. My advice to you is don’t give up!! The road to success is far from easy. You will have days that you will feel lost, doubtful and everything seems to lose its meaning. Just hang on tight! Remember to take a breather once in a while. Surround yourself with individuals that will lend you a hand when you most need it and remember to do the same for others. I believe in paying it forward! Do not make the mistake of not asking for help and the sooner you do it the better! Seek for a mentor, find someone who’s been there done that. Believe in you. You got this!

We’d love to hear more about Lady Boss Tribe.
Most are under the impression that Lady Boss Tribe is my full-time job. In reality, I’m a licensed real estate agent “Real Estate Lady Boss” (Lady Boss Tribe and my career combined together) here in Houston. Also, along with my husband we own a real estate investment company Insta House Buyers. Our mission is to help homeowners who find themselves in a distress situation such as foreclosures, behind on their mortgage payments, delinquent taxes, unwanted inheritance or need to sell fast. We purchase homes in As-Is conditions all over Houston. We also offer a referral program. If you know of a property that’s vacant, boarded or if you or someone you know needs to sell send us the address and we will pay you $1,000 if we close on the property. That’s it! I’m proud of the business, my husband Christian and I have found. We are family owned so we deal directly with our clients. We come across so many heartbreaking stories. Being able to help our clients in the most difficult situations brings joys to our heart. We are here to help! Lady Boss Tribe is my baby you could say. I’m very passionate about it. I’m always in search for collaborations both locally, nationally and internationally.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
As I mentioned before, having a mentor is critical for you and your business. Be sure to do your research who this person will be. I personally have a business mentor and a spiritual mentor. Take care of both sides of your life. You can’t just feed side one and starve the other. Having a well-balanced life is important. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who will motivate you, encourage you, force you to step out your comfort zone and to level up. Seek for people who are in your niche and connect with them. They will be willing to work and help you! Hope you do the same for others. Invest in yourself and remember learning has a beginning and no end. Also, don’t be greedy!!! Will do more harm to you, your brand and business more than you realize. Most importantly, don’t get consumed by your business that you’re forgetting to live and to tend to the ones you love.
