Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Brown.
Jasmine, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I had a vision and to me, that’s all I really needed. It was after my grandmother’s death that I felt like I had to find my purpose and make her happy. I’ve always been a girly girl who loved pink and glittery things. I found my passion by searching online and I knew I wanted to make other women feel beautiful inside and out. I never knew that one day, I will be able to make a difference and owning my own business. GlitterMeCosmetics is about women empowerment and making women feel good by adding some shimmer to their life one heart at a time.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been an easy road, there were times, I really doubted myself and said, I was going to give up because I just couldn’t take the option of failure. I had a great support system and seeing my kids smile kept me motivated and with the help of my COO Mrs. Maire Yu-Brown, everything fell into the place. To the ladies that feel how I felt, I would say not to give up and if this is something you love, give it all your heart, sweat and tears and I promise it’ll work out.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Glitter Me Cosmetics – what should we know?
I am the CEO of Glitter Me Cosmetics. We have hand-mixed glitters, bath bombs, mink lashes and more. I am most proud of myself because I am giving my children a better life. I am reaching my goals and living my dreams.
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
Self-love. I think some women are beaten down so bad daily that they forget to love their self first.
