Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Miller.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had a passion for communication and loved hearing people’s story from all different walks of life. About four years ago, I was inspired to start a podcast for women that was real, honest, raw, and provided inspiration to the everyday girl. So that is when The Hey Girl Hey Podcast was birthed. I was very fearful for almost three years but finally in January 2019, I launched my passion project that I am so very proud of. The Hey Girl Hey Podcast now airs two times a week on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google Play Music and YouTube. With over 10k downloads, I look forward to continuing to grow my reach and inspire any women, man, girl or boy to go after their dreams and passion.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey sharing with people and their stories. The hard times have been when I was going through personal challenges but still had to remain committed. I have learned when to take a step back and when to go all-in but ultimately I feel that sometimes when you are going through some of the hardest moments, it is important that your voice is heard because you can help someone else.

The “Hey Girl Hey” Podcast hosted by myself Kim Miller offers women what they’ve always wanted: a fun girlfriend who will discuss all of life’s issues with them in a non-judgmental, uplifting environment filled with honest opinions, a chill vibe and all the “hey girls!” a girl could ask for. But “Hey Girl Hey” is about so much more than feeling like you are hanging with a good friend. It’s about promoting true sisterhood by building a community of listeners who engage week by week to be empowered through COMMUNITY. The Podcast provides a platform for shared experiences and continual education on topics relevant to women from all walks of life all while encouraging personal growth through messages of integrity and love and fostering unity by celebrating the successes of women around the world.
Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
This is an issue that I hope to get better with this year but I do feel that Houston is great for networking amongst women. I love groups like The Social Tea that offer fun events for women to come together and network.
