Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Noel.
Maggie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in Missouri City, TX where I grew up with both parents who strongly believed and instilled the importance of education in me. Not only did they instill education in me, but it was my father who specifically instilled the drive and desire to get my education payed for. So, he found what I was good at and kept me in it. What I was good at was the game of golf. Since the tender age of 6 years old, he took me to practice every single day and signed me up for any and every tournament there was. What that meant was that I did not get the pleasure of experiencing same experiences that my friends got to have. But what I did not know what that my dad was setting me up for the biggest success of my life. A scholarship. Throughout junior golf, I was successful in winning several Championships on the local, state, and national level. I received an athletic Scholarship to the University of North Texas where carried my team for all 4 years and where I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
After college, I played competitive golf on the Professional level briefly before becoming a Teaching professional where I was named one of the Best Young Golf Instructors in the Country by Golf Digest two years in a row. (2014-2015, 2016-2017) As a woman, I have always been into beauty enhancements, makeup, and just all things beauty. After teaching golf for about two years, I knew I wanted to go into business for myself. And I also knew I wanted to get into the business of making women (and men) feel good about themselves. I learned about Microblading and immediately know that this was the trade I wanted to learn and offer.
What started off as a “hobby” and something to do in between golf lessons, has turned into a full operating Multi-Million dollar business where we specialize in all permanent makeup. We have been featured on all media outlets in the city of Houston and recently recognized in Glamour Magazine. We have had clients that travel not only from around the country but also around the World to receive our services. We have also incorporated our University where we teach students from around the World the art and technique of Microblading. With our furthest student coming all the way from Accra, South Africa. We have recently developed and created our own line of permanent makeup supplies. We plan to continue growing globally and being globally know and recognized for not only our services but also the experience our clients and students receive when they enter our Studio.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With any new business or any new venture, there are always learning curves. Fortunately for me, with my competitive and athletic background, I was always up for a challenge. The good thing about my struggles is that they have always worked in my favor. (in the end) As a young girl, my father always told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with making mistakes and that they do not define you. Use the mistakes as a learning lesson and apply it to make your business even better. So, I did. As I tell anyone that asks for advice when it comes to starting their journey; you can’t be afraid of the what if I fail? Because, darling, what if you win? And that has always been my mentality. I have always not only thought, but strongly believed that anything I touched, will surely turn to gold. And that mentality has always driven my momentum and success.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about MPressive Faces® – what should we know?
What I do specifically is all Permanent and specialize in 3D Microblading. Microblading is a non invasive form of tattooing where we create natural hair-like eyebrows. This alternative method of tattooing the eyebrows has taken the permanent makeup world by storm. As the eyebrows are the frame to everyones face, and seeing as how about 90% of individuals are unhappy with their eyebrows, this method has provided natural appearing semi permanent results that actually look real. I am most proud of the rapid growth of this company. In just under two years, we have grown to over 3,000 clients and over 400 students.
