Southern Kouture began has a lifestyle and wellness blog January 2014. Owner and Creative Director, Sheridan Labbé, decided to turn her passion into a blog called Southern Kouture as a crucifix of Southern hospitality meets modern day sophistication, the epitome of her work ethic. Since then, the blog has expanded into a business catering to small business needs. Southern Kouture’s mission is to tell your story through digital marketing and branding. Whether through an engaging blog and web content, social media management, public relations or overall marketing strategies, Southern Kouture specializes in results and maximum return on investment. Currently, Southern Kouture serves small businesses through specialized consulting.
Through the great results that Southern Couture experienced, Sheridan decided to launch her second business, Untamed Lingerie. Untamed Lingerie aims to expand the comfortably and knowledge of women’s sensuality through body inclusive lingerie, body care, and pleasure. We also provide exposure to well-educated speakers, workshops, and engaging activities. It is our goal to empower women to be comfortable in their sensuality and sexuality.
Has it been a smooth road?
Any entrepreneur will tell you, the road is NOT smooth. It’s more like valleys and peaks. Things start off great most likely because you’re excited to start your business and already have clientele. The struggles come when your business grows to the point where you need to put more processes in place, hire staff, or figure out ways to bring in more clientele. Be patient and don’t feel bad about changing the course. Some businesses operate for years and decades, and some business ideas are meant to be short term to prepare you for the big business opportunity. Know when to keep pushing, when to change the plan, and when to start over.

I am known for my work in helping local brands grow their presence. I typically help new businesses with getting their branding started from scratch with websites, logos, social media, marketing plans, etc. Brands know they can come to me anytime for assistance. I am able to see the vision for a brand no matter what the industry is. I’m also known for hosting unique events. I started off hosting events for women and have expanded since then to host events through Untamed Lingerie. I always want my events to be unique. When I feel a market is becoming too saturated and redundant, I look for other niches that haven’t been tapped.
I am proud of the resiliency Southern Kouture has had over the last almost five years, from growing from a blog to business, it has been a journey I appreciate.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I grew up around a lot of strong, business-minded individuals. Both of my parents work in banking, and my grandmother is very successful in real estate along with other business ventures. Being around successful driven gave me this push that I HAD to be great. I’ve always felt like I knew I had to do something great and be successful, failure wasn’t an option for me. My parents set such a high bar and definitely making them proud was a driving force along with a strong sense of independence I’ve had. I started working as soon as I could because I always wanted to make sure I had my own and could do the things I wanted to do.
