Meet Trailblazer Sia Moiwa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sia Moiwa.

Sia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am of an African descent. I am the Founder and CEO of Instrument of God, LLC in Houston, TX founded in 2014. I believe my story started the day my mother gave birth to me. I was born fighting for my life and I don’t think my life has been anything of the normal. Being the eldest of two, in my culture, you are called to bear much responsibility and there is a great expectation that you must set the tone for success for your siblings that are following your suit. This created a sense of independence and setting my own path. I was a child that suffered with low self-esteem, overcompensated to be better than average and my value was determined by the perception of my trauma. This would later become the embarkment of my journey to healing.

As a young girl, I can remember dysfunction, abuse, the molestation and constant triggers of traumatic events that were portrayed as my identity. This was not only what I had to live through, but it led me to my purpose to help others to heal and become whole. Instrument of God, LLC was birthed out of my own life experiences, a corporation and a movement called to help souls that have been bound by the traumas of life and inspire, motivate and equip them to heal and walk into their God-given wholeness.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My road has been challenging yet rewarding and self-discovery has become my long pursuit. One of the greatest obstacles that I have had to overcome is fear and accepting the woman I have been called to be and the purpose God has given me to help others heal. I had to dig deep and face my past and realize that I am so worthy of the future God has prepared for me. Smooth? I don’t think that is a word I can say my life has ever consisted of, roller-coaster suits my life best. There have been so many lows, coming from an abusive and broken home, being a single mother at the age of 17 and dealing with the tragic death of my father. By the grace of God, I’ve overcome much with prayer, counseling and understanding my true identity.

To the young woman out there, I would advise them to seek knowledge and wisdom, heal and find peace with your past, be true to who you are and don’t let anyone else tell your story. If you lived it, you must write it and keep God at the center of all of it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Instrument of God LLC – what should we know?
I am known as a transformational speaker, coach, writer and Certified Trauma Professional who helps souls move from trauma to triumph, fear to faith and brokenness to strength. I am also a prophetic poet and author of an upcoming book called “Pieces of Me,” written to give precedence of spiritual, emotional and physical healing.

What we do at Instrument of God, LLC is give a hand-held approach by helping individuals face the traumas of their past and walk them step by step through their healing journey into their wholeness. We do this through individual and group coaching, trauma therapy, and prophetic poetry that renovates the mind, body, and soul. I am proud of the experiences that life has given me to be used as a vessel to help others heal, become whole and live a life of fullness.

Do you recommend any apps, books or podcasts that have been helpful to you?
One of my compasses to life is the word of God, I resort to it daily. When I don’t have the book handy, I use a couple of apps – Glo Bible and Strongs Concordance KJV Bible. I’m an avid reader and you can always find me reading a book. I have too many to mention, so I’ll share what I’ve been currently reading:

-Healing the Soul of a Woman by Joyce Meyer
-En Punto by C.R. Oliver
-Soul Issues by Faith Abraham

One of many favorite podcasts of mine is June Hunt’s Hope For The Heart.  She has a way of speaking to your heart and mind with practical wisdom.

For encouragement and revelation, I listen to the likes of Dr. Matthew Stevenson, Juanita Bynum, and Eric Thomas. I am also a trauma junkie, so I keep myself up-to-date with new studies, research and training to better assist individuals in the path of healing.
