Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie De Los Santos.
Stephanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, it all started out about 8 years ago, I stepped into a salon and pestered the hairstylist about how she got there and what it took to become a hairstylist. So I walked into Regency Beauty Institute and took a tour. I immediately knew this where I was meant to be. I ended graduating as the first master designer graduate at the Copperwood location. From there I started at Salon Picasso Studios and after five years. I decided make the jump and become entrepreneur to start my own salon. In February 2017, Boldly Fierce Hair Studio was created and since has been an amazing adventure.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has definitely been a bumpy one, I was a young mother at 18 and wanted to succeed in life in general. Growing up with my husband and kids was tough all together. I was a housewife for about eleven years and decided it wasn’t for me because I wanted more. As soon as my youngest went to school full time I went to Beauty School, after it was over, it was intimidating to start because you only learn the basics of passing state board and basics of skills of the industry. With time came experience and education. Going to hair shows, taking classes, and learning from the best in the industry never stops as the industry continues to revolve and change. My advice to young women coming up in any industry is to stay strong, believe in yourself. Never stop learning, education is key and greatness will never be achieved if you become complacent. Find a mentor, I have so many in my life and I’m grateful to every single one of them.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Boldly Fierce Hair Studio – what should we know?
As a multicultured hairstylist, I specialize and known for hair color services such as hair coloring, highlights, ombre’s, balayage, and fashion vivid colors. I also cut and style hair for clients of all ages. I always do a consultation before any service to understand the client’s needs and goals. I’m known for being fashion forward and innovative. Along with my quirkiness allows my creativity to take over to design beautiful colors and styles.
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
In the Beauty Industry, I tend to think a lot of women view each other as competitors or view others as a threat. Instead, we should be building each other up and be supportive of one another. We all have different backgrounds and styles… I have lots of friends from beauty school who maintained and grown into amazing stylists. Some I’ve met along the way have made an impact on me and taught me so much. I feel we can learn from one another and all be leaders of our community.

Stephanie is a fantastic stylist! Not only does she have awesome skills in cuts and color, but she also is very personable. She really spends time with her clients, listening to their wants and giving them honest advice and options from which to choose. My teenage son was wanting to go from a long style to a short style, but was very nervous. She spent a lot of time with him, asking his opinion along the way. Now she not only does my hair, but also all my kids’ and my husband’s hair as well.
