Today we’d like to introduce you to Tramisha McGrew.
Tramisha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always wanted to be a business woman and once I went off to college, I majored in Business Management. I received my Bachelors Degree from Houston Baptist University in 2013. Attending college on track and field scholarship lead me into coaching for seven years. I now train athlete’s privately throughout Houston and surrounding areas. Being someone who always wanted to do things on my own terms, I launched my real estate career to which I am with I J Realty LLC. I also launched two online stores Bél Flé and Glam Bag Fashion, both in early 2019. I am also an actress and entertainer. I have a couple of projects that I am apart of that will be coming out later this year that I a very excited about.
Has it been a smooth road?
The journey of an entrepreneur is not easy at all. If you want to jump into it because you think if a quick way to make money, I would advise you to do your research first. One of my main challenges is trying to get all my tasks done in a timely matter and not because I have bad time management, but because I still currently work full time. So many times, I have to walk a fine line when it comes to balancing everything going on. There are some days where I have to work, but I have to also go and check on a home build for a real estate client before work, and later that evening, I might have a training session scheduled with a fitness client after work.
Please tell us about the business.
I absolutely love real estate and I am so excited about how I am growing as an agent. I am with I J Realty, which is based in the North Loop area of Houston. I specialize in all things real estate from home purchases, rentals, apt leasing and anything real estate. What sets me apart from other agents is I treat someone who is leasing, which the same care and attention as someone who may be purchasing a home. To me, every client is important and must be treated as such to ensure a strong relationship. When it comes to my online stores, they both are accessory based stores that I started in 2019. I am very happy with the progress that I have made as far as sales and expanding my store brands online. I am very optimistic and excited about the coming year.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that Houston is not one dimensional. I am a big food person and I often enjoy going out and “tasting the city” as I like to think of it. The city is so diverse in so many ways as well. We are the perfect mix of the big city with southern charm. We have beautiful people, music, food and entertainment. This is a big attraction for us, which brings me straight to the number one thing I like lease about our city, which is the traffic. I fell as though there has been constant construction everywhere and the more people that move here make it worst. What would normally take 15 mins could easily triple in time if you leave after a certain time. Another thing about the city that I like least and in some ways angry about is the fact that Astroworld was taken away from us and we have yet to fill that void in the city. I get sad every time I pass by the empty lot on 610 and see dirt or trailers for the Rodeo. We need some theme park entertainment. I am still optimistic about us finally receiving one someday.
