Today we’d like to introduce you to Treva Wygle.
Hi Treva, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My creative journey has unfolded in layers, each one building quietly on the last. Photography was my first professional love, and for more than 25 years it has allowed me to tell stories through light, connection, and place. Today, I continue to offer photography services here in Galveston, specializing in beach and family sessions for visitors who want to preserve the feeling of their time on the island, not just document it. Capturing those moments of joy, presence, and memory is still very much at the heart of what I do.
Several years ago, that same eye for composition and emotion naturally expanded into interior design. Through my design brand, Plan-it Ink Style, I work with clients to create coastal spaces that feel intentional, beautiful, and lived-in. Whether I’m helping someone design a new build from the ground up, select finishes like tile and paint, or style a weekend retreat or short-term rental, my focus is always on creating spaces that feel aligned with both the environment and the people who inhabit them.
At the same time, something more personal began to resurface. Long before photography or design, I was a painter and a drawer, creating quietly and privately as a child, often tucked away in my bedroom. Creativity has always been part of my DNA, but for many years it lived in the background. What began again as a personal release and creative outlet gradually came full circle. I realized I wasn’t returning to art, I was finally stepping fully into the artist I had always been.
That realization led to the birth of Saltwater & Gold Creations, where I now offer my original artwork to the public. These pieces are soulful, expressive, and story-driven, each with a personality of its own. This chapter feels both new and deeply familiar, like reclaiming something that was patiently waiting. I’m excited to share that my work will soon be available for purchase in a local Galveston boutique, with details and dates to be announced.
Everything I do now, photography, design, and art, flows from the same place: a love of beauty, story, and meaningful creation. This season feels less like an expansion and more like an alignment.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been fortunate in that my path has felt largely aligned. When I set my mind to creating something, it tends to unfold naturally because it’s rooted in what I’m genuinely good at and passionate about. If I’ve faced any challenge, it’s been learning how to honor my own rhythm. As someone who thrives on creativity and exploration, I’ve had to become more mindful about where I place my time and energy. Alignment has been my greatest teacher, reminding me that clarity, presence, and balance are just as important as momentum.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At its core, my work is an expression of a creative life. Professionally, I specialize in photography, interior design, and fine art. Photography is what many people know me for, largely because I’ve been doing it for so long and have had the privilege of connecting with so many people through it over the years. That chapter will always be meaningful to me, and it remains an important part of my work.
But I don’t feel defined by any single role or title. Creativity, for me, isn’t limited to what I offer as a service. It’s how I move through the world. I’m a creative soul by nature, someone who finds inspiration in connection, curiosity, and exploration. Whether I’m painting, writing poetry, designing spaces, reading, traveling, or learning something new, I’m always expanding, asking questions, and seeking truth and beauty in everyday life.
What I’m most proud of right now isn’t tied to a specific achievement, but to my personal journey of self. I’m proud of the way my art has brought me full circle back to my true essence, helping me reconnect with the parts of myself that once lived quietly in the background. I’m proud of having the courage to grow, to do the hard things, to believe in myself, and to keep chasing what lights me up, even when it feels uncertain.
What sets me apart is that my work is deeply intertwined with who I am. I lead with heart, kindness, and a sense of wonder. I value playfulness, imagination, and staying connected to a childlike curiosity about life. I love deeply, dream boldly, and allow myself to keep evolving. That openness has shaped my art, my relationships, and the way I show up in the world. Everything I create comes from that place of authenticity, and I think people can feel that when they encounter my work.
