Today we’d like to introduce you to Tricia Turner.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I became a licensed Realtor in the state of Texas in 1992 and started my career in Sugar Land with Gary Greene Realtors/Better Homes & Gardens. I focused my first couple of years primarily working with buyers/investors with a focus on townhomes and condos. I also owned and managed 24 rental properties, so I was very involved in the property management aspect as well as sales.
My husband was also a Realtor, so I decided to get my loan officer’s license in 2004, and worked as a loan originator from 2004 – 2010. However, when the mortgage industry went down in 2008, I made the decision that I would go back into full-time residential sales, which I did in January 2010.
I have worked for every big box real estate firm, but always knew that one day I would have my own. I obtained my real estate broker’s license in January 2017, and have pursued my dream of having my own brokerage, which opened May 12, 2017, and is one of the fastest growing brokerages around. We currently have 31 licensed agents, with another 5 committed by the end of the year.
I absolutely love what I do for a living and am thrilled to see the office so full of agents that are doing great things.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I went through a divorce in 2008, so being a single mother and having 3 small children, it was quite challenging at times. I have always worked for myself and worked on a commission structure, so there were most certainly some hard times through some of the years.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with TRICIA TURNER PROPERTIES – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
TRICIA TURNER PROPERTIES is a group of local Realtors that have come together to provide outstanding customer service, and be a source of accurate real estate information.
I created 2 very special programs for our buyers and sellers, but we are most proud of our Protect and Serve Program. That program is specifically for police officers, first responders, military, and firefighters. We honor and thank them by rebating 1% of the sales price back to them at closing, when they buy or sell a home and use TRICIA TURNER PROPERTIES to represent them.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
When I first began this journey, I wasn’t sure how fast it would grow, but God has bigger plans for me apparently. My office has continued to amaze me and many others with the rapid growth that we are seeing, and because of that, we will be expanding in the future.
My plans are to open another branch, in a different area, within the next 2 years.
