Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Daniel.
Hi Valerie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Thank you to VoyageHouston Magazine for including me in your feature. I’m incredibly honored and appreciate the opportunity to connect with your audience.
I started my event design journey in 2021 after planning, designing, and coordinating my son’s first birthday party. I’ve always loved designing and planning events, so the experience came very natural to me and really inspired me to be creative.
After receiving so much praise and compliments, my husband encouraged me to take my talents and creative passions more seriously and consider starting my own business in event design. I already had a career as a full-time data privacy attorney and a year under my belt as a full-time mom; how on earth was I going to add a business to my list?! I reflected on my mother and her journey as full-time business owner and drew inspiration from her experience of being a boss in every aspect of her career. After weighing the pros and cons and praying heavily for guidance, I decided to take the leap and add entrepreneurship to my repertoire.
While continuing to practice law, I began my business as Oui Like to Party and quickly gained support from my network of friends and family that hired me as their event designer or referred me. Over time I learned more about my skills and design strengths, developed and honed my design style and aesthetic, and crystalized how I wanted to run my business and the type of events I wanted to design. So this year and two kids later, I decided to rebrand under Valerie Daniel Events and align my creative evolution with my professional development to deliver a more authentic and curated client experience.
Valerie Daniel Events is a modern event design company that specializes is sophisticated + chic event design, floral design, and seamless event coordination. We service all types of events, including social celebrations, weddings, small business, and corporate events. It is refreshing and freeing to feel more in tune with my brand, and I’m extremely excited to share Valerie Daniel Events with the world and create some fantastic and memorable client experiences!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, but I’m embracing being uncomfortable with the unknowns and the lessons learned. When you start a business just purely out of the joy of doing something you’re good at, you neglect to establish your business infrastructure and processes for how you do what you do, and a lot of times, your clients pick up on that. I’ve been much more intentional about being organized and process driven but it took time to understand my flow and what works and what doesn’t.

I am event designer and attorney, but my business is focused on creating unique and custom event designs and experiences. Valerie Daniel Events specializes in full event design, floral designs, and event coordination. We excel in creating the visual aesthetic and look of your event and the executing all the details that make your event unforgettable and impactful.
What sets us apart from others is our attention to detail and our commitment to truly go above and beyond to ensure each event is true reflection of our client and their personality. We truly take our time to get it right and thoroughly communicate throughout the process so that each client understands what they are getting and can feel confident knowing they made the right choice in working with Valerie Daniel Events.
